The Radiator. It's been said that the Radiator fails and mixes the Coolant and Transmission Fluid. Replace it early. With that said, I like these vans. The four valve V-8 is a GAS HOG, but it will pull a house down the freeway. Nice Job Nissan.
My new 2012 was bought new and I’m amazed at the quality of the build. I have filled this van front to rear, side to side with super heavy gear and when I put my foot into it for acceleration, it JAMS!
So the 3 main issues with the vehicle were power, interior space and lack of 4wd, sounds like you picked a vehicle that didnt suit your needs lol, rule #1 of picking a vehicle, plan out your needs and wants and look for aomething that fits your criteria.
Did you guys ever finish your build? I watched the 5 things you didn't like about your 2020, 2500 NV. Came to see the 5 things you did like, but don't see that video. Hope your plans to get on the road worked out for you. ✌️💛🙂
You bought a van to convert without considering the interior height? That is the first thing I hate about this video. (Psst: there are 5 things.) Ridiculous.
Just fix it lol Some people are just not mechanically inclined. My cousin just called me about his Prius how it was a piece of shit cuz his door panel fell off. Went over to take the door panel off & realized it was some clips that broke off.. Replaced them for like $10 & got it fixed in like 20 mins lol Just replaced my other cousin's whole complete door on his Silverado . Took about an hour LOL ! This was all with BASIC TOOLS that I bought at Home Depot . A tool box for $100 that came with 270 pcs ! Lazy ass foo's
@vegansvango2300 thank you for this video! I'm considering getting an NV as well and wondering - do you have concerns for finding replacement parts since this is a discontinued van?
6'2" is less than 3% of people. Make a hole and make a drain hose. Personal use is less than 5% this vehicle operates fine for the rest of the 95%. You bought the v-6. That's your bad. Stop crying you knew you were going to be loaded 100% of the time. 100x positive things maybe 1 or 2 bad. Make another video or try another make and model. Good luck. this is the best your going to get for the money.
At 3:49 he says he should have gotten a V8 engine instead of this V6 engine Nissan reminds me of this old 1970s commericial. LOL !!!...ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qYo0lVVH2wU.html
Just found another thing to hate about the Nissan NV2500. I just took on the usually not so difficult task of replacing the spark plugs. On the left side of the engine, the 3 spark plugs are really difficult to access without removing the intake manifold (which is a pretty big job). I managed to get the coils out and then found oil on the bad spark plug, likely meaning a bad valve cover gasket. So now I want to replace the valve cover gasket, but again.. that pesky intake manifold is in the way. Long story short, spark plugs can be a huge hastle with this van and expensive to get serviced.
My high top NV2500 is 6'4" to the rail you claim you hit your head on and you are 6'2"... I'm 6'6" and have never hit my head. Your complaining about the power after choosing a v-6 over the 375hp V-8.. dude? The factory tires do suck at off road but you can get bigger diameter all terrain tires and make it much better. A 265/17 fits with room to spare. Although since you bought the v-6 it will seem even more underpowered. I'm pretty sure the reason they don't offer the high top in 4x4 is roll over safety. I'm so sorry you had to drill a hole, you must be exhausted. Hahahah My two complaints are; 1. If you put the safety partition between the seats and the cargo you lose a few precious inches of leg room. I intend to remove mine and fabricate a recess so my seat will go all the way back. 2. The tires suck and you have to have a scanner hooked into the OBD II connector to reset the tire pressure sensors after you rotate the tires. I'd buy another one for sure and think they are far better than any other high top van.
I’m 5foot 2 so when you are ready to sell let me know 😅 I would be fine without the v8 awd would be awesome. Maybe it’s about time Subaru stepped up to the game
I bought a 2014 new. I don't like that the vehicle is 20 feet long but only 9 feet of space in the back. Also, if you plug an adapter into the 12v hole, it sticks out and hits my knee. why not move it over a little??? At 6'3" I hit the ceiling also. The inverter turning off when you go to park is annoying. I can live with the 13.9 mpg. Also, I live in the flat lands of So. Cal. so power is not an issue for my 6 cylinder. And it sure is UGLY. What I LIKE about it is. It's reliable. came with a 7 year 100K mile warranty. Never had to use it. I've only bought tires and batteries in 8 years. Pre-drilled holes for building shelving is nice. Very deep center council to hide stuff in. Inverter is nice to have. BIG mirrors and the overhead storage is nice too. Did I mention it's UGLY. 😄
You couldn't get the High top? And if you want more power you can change the Air filter for a high performance Air filter for more power by 3-5 horses, that might not seem much but it makes a difference
I have 2012 NV 2500 with the V8 .it’s worked pretty good for me . and I thought , I was happy with what I had until I saw it in Mexico an 2019 NV3500 V8 4x4 standard. That thing was awesome.
damn, i have to disagree about lack of power. i load mine up with pallets of concrete all the time for work. and it picks up great still. i also have the V6
Why do people worry about gas mileage when you own a huge van what do you expect. Then you add all the wood cabinets, captains chairs refrigerator etc. dont expect alot of miles out of a gallon of gas, just saying, Enjoy!
The only legitimate complaint you had was the lack of power. But you would have know that when you test drove it. Everything else was just silly. What would your 6th complaint have been? The font used on the NV2500 badge. Or maybe the white paint was too white. 😆
First off all your complaints seem like things you could have considered before you bought it, second I live in Colorado.. in the mountains and by the time you build it out the extra weight and a set of bf Goodrich ko2’s your NV will be a beast. The only time I’ve had issues with power in the mountains has been when I decide to tow my 17 ft rv it’s about 4000 lbs and I only felt like a snail on I70 west out of Denver toward Vail but I was not alone. Oh on the tires I also went a little bigger.. 265 if I remember correctly… it will drive so much better! Smooth and stable! Hope you have moved on from these five things and love your van!
These Van's are awesome you should have bought a v8 as far as the water I've never had any issues. These seem like dumb ass things to be hating on especially since they offer a v8 you choose not to get one
I converted my van. It is a low roof 1500, because I wanted stealth. Hard to believe your's has no power. I kept most of my wood, which was polyurethaned on both sides because of possible future moisture, at 1/8" to keep everything light. When I step on the gas, it goes. Just always think of weight as u build. Besides, not being able to go faster is a blessing. U get to see more as u go! What could be more fantastic! The water build up issue is ridiculous. I too had to drill some drain holes in my 2017. My van is so freakin' sturdy and reliable that I can barely stand it. Finally, complaining about the different wheel well box sizes? Good mushrooms ....
