Me as a INFJ ordering food: Look at menu, I will have x,y,z done My friend a ESTP ordering food: What the sauce goes in x, can I see the side, what about the specials, what cocktails do you have, does that have z, 15 mins later they still haven’t ordered….it drives me up the wall. But I get to experience new things because of my P friend.
As a Perceiver U have Nailed our chaos Perfectly!!! I have Had to Adopt the continuous list of J’s to get Anything done! And u r right about Do Not get in my way at that prep time to leave I’m hustling & Super focused! And u should see my attempt at lists: it’s chaos
Does anyone know how to describe this guy's accent/affect? It's vaguely Midwestern but I feel like we could get more specific. He sounds like my Aunt Betsy.
Im an INFJ and this is so true. If I have to pick up my partner at 5 i plan ahead to compensate for traffic and build my schedule around all the obstacles in order to arrive on time. Some people just dont pay much attention and it really stresses me out
This is an explanation that is very much based on the binary preference system. I'm an INTJ, and in light of the stacking of the cognitive functions of that type Ni (Introverted intuition) is my dominant function. Lo and behold, it's a perceiving function leading the stack. So because I'm leading with a perceiving/data gathering function, my 'getting my closet cleaned' can look a lot like that P type diagram. Cognitive functions make the type nuances a lot more interesting, and it's not quite so cut and dry as 'a P looks like this' and 'a J looks like that'.
I am an ENFP who once had an INTJ boss. She was not just my boss, but my mentor. She always preferred that emails/ posts/responses be kept short and to the point. So do my best to respond in that vein. While I do agree that we both lead with perceiving functions, as an ENFP, the most extroverted part of me is gonna be how I perceive the world of abstract and possibilities. And because it's extraverted, it's messy. It's all over the place. It's wherever the rabbit hole leads me. Whereas as an INTJ. The most extroverted part of her was how she got things done with that extroverted thinking (Te). She was often so organized and linear. And because she led with introverted intuition (Ni), she knew how to forecast and foresee all the other possibilities miles down the road. That was where she would masterfully execute her auxiliary Te. Hope that helps.
I'm an ESFJ! An interesting take on these functions! Thanks for sharing to inspire my MBTI channel. Randomly discovered your channel through the RU-vid algorithm! 🤟🤟🤟
This so right on. When I was in college I took a Myers Briggs test and came out INTP. At the time, I was in an academic setting, taking classes on philosophy, etc. and very interested in logical reasoning. I was also going through a phase where my favorite author was Ayn Rand, an author/philosopher whose whole premise is that thinking and reason should always trump feelings. As I got out into the real world it became clear to me that I am not so much a thinker and definitely have a feeling side as well. I'm a lawyer now and at least compared to other lawyers, I am more on the feeler side. Overall, I'd say I'm on the border between thinking and feeling, sometimes I am more one than the other, but I strongly reported myself as a Thinker the first time I tool Myers Briggs.
I think the issue is just poor administering of the test by “self-answering” these questions - it needs to be made more reliable somehow, maybe by having people actually perform some tasks or smth ie truly testing people in action, to avoid the bias and what people want to seem like..
Perfect! That is why I always see worl to do, even when what needs to be done is already done... I get the info, I get creative and I just see things to do.. whoch is amazing
I don't think this example is entirely accurate to reality. In my experience with perceivers, the closet might have gotten clean, but a great number of other things suddenly were neglected or outright abandoned, possibly with something being on fire, or the appointment was arrived at late, & a ton more energy than the task called for was wasted.
I'm an NF and I'm here to help.... ssssooooo true...hence the reason I am in mental health and suicide prevention....helping people is life Although the guilt thing doesn't happen as much when they are mature in who they are and they also are less passive aggressive once matured
Thanks so much for posting! I (ENTP) was trained by Otto in 1997. After that I worked with tons of teachers and educators sharing the gifts of Type, Temperament, Teaching and Learning. I've got some of his DVDs but never saw this one! Classic Otto. Damn he was a great guy.
I'm more dominant in being a perceiver. However, when it comes to being punctual; I am more judging in that area to the point I get stressed... It comes from waiting for my mother. To finally get out the front door to take me to places growing up...! In other areas of my life; I am always leaving things to the last minute. So, even though I hated waiting, as I am an extremely impatient person. I am thankful that I can be punctual from it.
NF - personalise everything, everything is able to, NF quest is identity. NF loves to turn their life, careers, relationships into causes (how they can help). We root for the underdog. NF style is catalytic. 6:30- negative is unwanted help Achilles heel is guilt. The NFs raise guilt to an artform. NFS can feel guilt about anything e.g. the storm in Bangladesh.
