I agree with Paul 100%. Even though I grew up with the strings version, upon hearing the naked version I preferred that. Now when I hear the Spector version, I think “Yep, Paul was right.”
As I commented on tthe previous video I looked at, I love always having to look at the comments to see what this is, since it's not mentioned on the video.
At the time of the break-up, all but George had "scattered" solo projects.George had material for 3 albums, all with what would be hit radio singles ready to go the day he quit.
How about Paul singing one take of,,, I Want You,,, she's so heavy,,,,,or one take of,,,, I'm so tired,,,,, interesting to hear how they chose to sing,,,, and an alternative take,,,,,
The Paul and John formula or routine was later adopted by Gene and Paul of Kiss . Only gave credit to Ace and Peter to keep from losing huge amounts of money. They didnt want negative feedback from fans. George's songs always caught my attention. Traveling Wilburys with George is so awesome to me. Thank you Mr. Harrison 🌹
Even tho Paul was my favoritefor years,i never thought of him as a great vocalist, however i do believs he was the true driving force of the Beatles, the hardest worker i guess because he loved what he was doing so much, later on i realized i kinda preferred john more, even tho i see him more as the procrastinating Beatle,Beatle Mania cant really be explained, you just had to be alive in the sixties to experience it
For the record: The main song line is about a difficult moment when John's wife, Cynthia, presented John with a caged bird as a Birthday present. John couldn't understand the gift at all, especially the thought of a bird in a cage (perhaps also how his life had turned around with all the touring etc.). You can't see me, you can't see me! Please note also another Lennon song, with a completely different meaning, years later: ' Free as a bird'.
There is merit that Ticket To Ride is early metal. I have always debated with my Beatles friends that Come Together was one of the first early rap records. The Beatles were all over the place creatively and musically.
Clapton was never the brightest bulb in the vegetable patch. He got drunk and said he supported enoch powell, the conservative politician who in his famous rivers of blood speech said if immigration continued white brits would be replaced and riots would lead to rivers of blood. Clapton was soused at the time and later apologised despite making a career selling black mississippi blues. The man spent his time with boyd shooting heroin and eating only chocolates and then drinking whiskey and seven up, only changing to brandy when his doctor asked him to stop drinking whiskey because of stomach ulcers. Now a man who misinterprets a docs advice to stop drinking as I will just change to brandy as its healthier is not exactly the smartest tool in the shed. The bugger was always dimwitted and had zero personality so he wanted what george had. He got it and then mucked it up like an actor who forgets his lines and then cheated on her and left her. What a clown. Love his guitar playing though, bloody bonkers he could lift up an audience and give them some groove. But dim as a dying bulb.
Unless he was being purposely deceitful (not unheard of for John), the lyrics seem quite straightforward. I mean, what else could "My baby don't care" be referring to? That doesn't sound like a red light district girl in Hamburg. The song still comes from a dark place, even thought the music is quite upbeat. THAT, I think, gave a big boost to the "happy sad song" phenomena in pop and rock music.
I wouldn't forgiven him look at her. Clapton pulled a Michael Jackson on Harrison. He betrayed his friendship. Just lkke Jackson did to McCartney. With your long blonde hair and your eyes of blue. George wrote that about hdd.
