This video has helped me more than you know thank you! I have learning disabilities as well. I have known since I was in second grade. I always felt embarrassed when it came to other students. I’ve always struggled with comprehension and anxiety. I’ve always been a slower learner when it comes to learning. I’m going into the LPN program I have my CNA and Med Aide right now . This semester will be the first time I’m going to college. I have a 2 month old son. I’m trying to have a positive mindset, but I know how bad I struggle. I just don’t want to fail. I’ve always wanted to be nurse. I’m trying to learn how to balance having a child and do all these things that will make me successful and stay caught up. ❤
Awww I am so glad this video helped you! You got this! The hardest is part is believing you can do it. It’s going to be hard but just do your very best. Stay organized, take breaks, and utilize disability services resources if your program offers it. You will be come a nurse! You just have to make it through this program. Praying for you! My gpa is 3.5 and I have decent BS-MS research experience. 2 thesis projects, 3 internships.Good LORs. I am facing lots of rejection from university. Currently going to apply for fall 2025 . I am really doubtful of getting in at this point 😢
I just want to encourage you to keep on applying and not give up! I got rejected to my top two schools for grad school but I kept doing research about other programs and never gave up. So keep applying! and if you need to take break and apply in fall 2025 I thinks thats a great idea. Wishing you the best moving forward!
Thank you for this video , I have been on iep since I was in kindergarten until 12th grade it takes me a long time to understand things and it effects me still as an adult and I’m going to school to be medical assistance and I’m nervous because I know im going to struggle
And i would love to go to college Im only 18 years old , but im just so fearful that I want know what im doing when i get in there cause I’ve always had such a hard time in school the only thing I could really say I know for sure im good at is reading . Im more of a person that has street knowledge SOOO SMART when it comes to that not as much book knowledge but that’s one of the things that takes a toll on my mental health.

Girl yesss!!! Great topic!! I majored in Therapeutic Recreation I’m Licensed & Certified but I’ve worked every position but that because the pay isn’t the best. But literally every job I ever worked has prepared me for what I’m doing now. I’m a whole Social Worker out here in these streets!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Congratulations, this is so encouraging. As far back as I can remember, while I was in school there has always been this struggle in my personal life, that made things more difficult for me.

I can totally related throughout my primary schoo all way to high school graduation I was struggle with school alway failing even I did tutor for math and english math exam I alway fail I was not diagnoesed until I was in my final year of high school I went to school counsellor and special need head teacher did test I was diagnoesed with mild intellectual disabilty I was in shock and bit angry I got diagnoesed so lated in my final year of high school before graduation I told my 5 best friend who I was really close with they all in shock was still love me for who I am and accept me and my friend group they all shock as well and but still loved me and accept me for who I am throughout my school life I was struggling coming from asian vietnamese my parent and older sister would yell at me due my poor grade I was bully in high school with regular class my senior year final 2 year of high school some of my class subject they all extremely smart student here I am all my teacher love me and care for me and my tutor teacher for my math and english love me and accept me for who I am I was extremely jealous of my older sister,cousins and family friend I alway in their shadow of achievment they smart but they all said fuck what they said don't listen them you are you I insecure I not smart or talented I would achieve anything my parent brag about them I want the attention but I alway put aside
I was in special need classes all middle and high school I had some teachers be so nasty one gym teacher named miss kanser even said I will never get anywhere in life she was a gym teacher in New Jersey parents please speak to your kids I never told on her but I wish I did so many evil teachers out there!!!!

Have you ever thought about writing a book about your journey? So many people would read ir because this topic is always under the radar. I am 43 with no college education and finding the courage to try to get my associates. The idea that i can't has always kept me from trying and your story gives me hope for myself. Thank you for sharing your story.
Congratulations! This was a well put together video, and I can relate A LOT to the personal journey you have faced. I have had a learning disability my whole life. I just graduated from college with my bachelor’s degree in English, and to say I am proud of myself is an understatement. I am also the first in my family to graduate from college. Originally, I wanted to be a High School Teacher. However, college taught me that teaching is simply not a strong fit for me. I was very involved in college: I was a Resident Assistant in the residence halls for 3 years, I was a peer-mentor for first-year students and first-generation students, attended conferences, etc. I truly made the most of my undergraduate experience. Because my involvement was so meaningful for myself and others, I have decided to pursue my masters in college student personnel. I plan to work in residence life, academic support & counseling, and diversity/inclusion initiatives with a focus on first-generation student development. I am so excited to begin graduate school! As you can relate most likely, it has been a long journey. But, I see light and hope. I am eager to work with residential students as a Graduate Assistant (GA) At my Alma-mater while beginning my graduate studies. I wish you the best!
Hi. I have a very low undergraduate GPA of 2.3 due to an illness and a medical issue (wrong medication) that caused me a physical disability during my undergraduate years. Then I earned a Master's degree with a 3.5 GPA, a 750 GMAT, 10 years of work experience, 2 years of fundraising for UNICEF and other NGO I also published research in a scientific journal. My goal is to apply to Business School for the PhD, what are my chances? I really appreciate any advice you can provide.
That’s one thing that God is going to do! If God sees that you are idolizing other things and not prioritizing him as number one, he will make sure that you do prioritize him or at least make it pretty tempting not to! They say he is a jealous guy oh yes, believe them. Lol.

I just got accepted into a masters program to hopefully become a community college counselor! As a transfer student, I hope to help those who are in the position I was in not too many years ago. I appreciate the open and honest conversation about your burnout and experience within the last few months but contrasting it with all the great times you’ve had. Hope to be like you at the end of next year 👏🏼
So are you an LPC-A like do you get direct hours for counseling students? Or is it more so academic counseling? Congrats with everything! I just graduated with my Master’s in Counseling.
Thank you and graduates on graduating with your masters :) So in California I am considered a personal/academic counselor. I am not a licensed clinical counselor but in California as a community college counselor I am able to help students with personal (mental), academic, and career matters.
Currently 30 living at home and honestly if God doesn’t want you to move you’ll keep getting dragged right back. It’s happened 3 times to me. So now just hoping I can make some financial progress. Great job paying off your car and having this mindset.

Hey, i found out i have a learning disability now in my 30s. I did suffer a lot in high school. I still struggle to learn everyday stuff. Adult everyday stuff like insurance, shopping ect... I suffer in relationships because i feel people think i am dumb. So i isolate myself and that makes me depressed because i like being around people but people dont understand. Im pretty lonely now. I only have my 3 children. Thats it.
