Yea, it’s hot so walk in it everyday. Make sure you have plenty of water and covering on your head. But get used to walking in it. I’m 63 and I’ve been walking in it almost everyday for over 20 years. So it’s hot, you’ll really appreciate an air conditioned home when you arrive home. Really bad public transport system, it’s a cultural wasteland, but it has its compensations like nature. Hiking, climbing and biking are all great.

People moving out there better hope they don’t need to drive into Phoenix for work or anything else for that matter. The i10 west of Phoenix is already the worst congested freeway in the Phoenix metro area. This community is farther out and will most likely add to that traffic. Expect 1.5 hour drive into downtown Phoenix.

How do you find out if your property can get a well put in??
@PHOENIXAZLIVING
@PHOENIXAZLIVING 5 месяцев назад
Great question, thank you for your comment...depending on where the property is located in Rio Verde Foothills oftentimes will give you an idea if a well can be installed. There are certain areas where the aquafers run beneath the properties where wells could be installed. If not sure, then well testing(drilling) can be done to see if a well is available on the property. Since I have sold a few homes out there, I have a pretty good idea of what area is more receptive to wells than other areas. Are you drawn to Rio Verde? Where are you currently living? Thank you for your comments, Paul! You're right about the types of heat. I'm from Phoenix so I'm used to the dry heat, but I went to school in New Orleans during college and the humidity was brutal. @PHOENIXAZLIVING
@PHOENIXAZLIVING 7 месяцев назад
Thank you Nancy for your comments. Glendale has a lot to offer and they have a number of pickle ball facilities around town. If you would be looking for a 55+ community to live in there are several to choose from, including the famous Sun City (I did a video on Sun City on the channel), which is where it all started. Several of the newer masterplan communities have 55+ neighborhoods as well. With State Farm stadium built in Glendale, there is so much entertainment around the Westgate Entertainment District. Coming down in July will be an eye opener, but as a native Phoenician I have grown up dealing with the heat, especially my younger days working construction. It is hot, the humidity is very low that time of year and frankly, you will be inside most of the time in A/C. If you want to play pickle ball you do it early in the morning or late afternoon, away from the heat of day. Most of the time you will be transitioning throughout the day in and out of the heat for short periods of time. A/C is all around. 😀Hopefully, you can deal with it because the winters are phenomenal. The suns shines most of the year here, over 300 days. When you're down here and if you would like to meet up, I would enjoy meeting you two and show you around or possibly meet for coffee...just let me know. Thanks again for your support of the channel. I have lived in Fountain Hills for eleven years, and have worked for the school district for five years. What can I say about this town? Before that I lived in Waukee, Iowa. Where absolutely no one looked forward to the winter time. But I digress. Before I go further I have to explain Fountain Hills relative to my personal way of life. Summarizing my entire perspective could fill a notebook, but.... I have never had a driver's license, I walk everywhere in town, so the summer is often hard on my body. But in all seriousness I do enjoy what this town has to offer. The Art Festival and 4th of July Festival are always a big part of my year. My life somewhat revolves around the calendar, which means, among other things, holidays. It helps that this town's Independence Day celebration is always huge. Although the traffic afterwards, in the darkness of night, makes walking the three miles home difficult. Either side of the street I live on comes right before large hills to walk up. Not easy. Especially at the height of the summertime. And as far as I can tell they don't have the Halloween Festival anymore. I really miss that. Speaking of traffic, that always sticks out to me. Crossing the street is often a hassle and I've come close to getting run over a handful of times out here. I have seen swerving, I have seen tailgating, and then there's running red lights. They do not drive right out here. Which makes me dread having to cross the street. And walking home at night always brings the Javelina hazard to mind. I don't see them often, but when I do it's always at night. Real estate prices are insane. To this day I still live with my parents because, despite have a state pension job in a small town with few employment opportunities, the rent for most of the places I've viewed would almost equal what I earn every month. As much as I'd like to live on my own, I would struggle to buy groceries much less live my complicated way of life. My way of doing things is an expensive one. I am an avid attender of Phoenix Fan Fusion (Formerly known as Phoenix Comic Con) and Tucson Comic Con. And my hotel stays during those events aren't cheap either. And I can't talk about my life in Fountain Hills without bringing this next part up. Random people I don't know often say weird stuff to me. Coincidentally, it's almost always at Burger King. One person walked passed me recently and told me he thought I was a robot, then there's the idiot who kept asking if I go to school in town. Why would he think I go to school?? But the award for lowest social skills goes to the guy who turned to face me and my friend....And just said "Every penis has a brain.". All these instances happened at Burger King. Let me think. I've cluttered this comment enough. But if I've got one last thing to add, In conclusion I enjoy my life here. Most of my friends don't live in Fountain Hills anymore so these days I mostly keep to myself, which is perfectly fine. But I've come to know that my way of seeing things is different than that of most people. Big City, small town, stuff going on, none of that means anything to me. If I can live the way I want and enjoy everything I do every year, that alone is good enough for me.
