This is a piece often requested of pianists too, with good reason. Miriam, did you just set up your mix recently? I discovered it with 73 tunes. I must comment on "Hallelujah," one of my favorite songs. I don't think I'd ever heard it played on harp previously. It was nice to imagine the words as you played.
I'm totally running out of words to describe how beautifully you play, no matter the tune. You bring out so much emotion in your music. Such smooth lever changes. Guess I'll just say thanks so much for sharing your music and making the world a better place.

Phew! It was an adventure ❤️. Yes…I’m currently working on the Espices collection by Bernard Andres. It has eight different pieces in the collection. They are VERY unique and different. I love them because they showcase all the lever harp can do.

Wow, you are so talented! Your videos are all so lovely! I particularly loved that in this one you looked so full of concentration and natural. Sometimes in some other videos I’ve wondered if someone was flashing a “don’t forget to smile!” sign at you in random moments. Either way, I am so impressed by your skill and always love the pieces you choose.
@colleenb8986 Thanks so much for taking the time to send me this nice comment! I really appreciate it so much. 🥰 When I make my videos it's usually on the weekend which means everyone is at home. So my mom sets up the camera and my family all goes outside for half an hour so I can film myself without an audience or any background noise. So my smiles are because I'm happy I nailed a particular spot or rhythm. And - smiling is my favorite!!!!!😁
Well played, Miriam! You captured the rocking rhythms of the sea quite well. The subject matter of this piece reminds me of the hymn "Rocked in the Cradle of the Deep," by Emma Willard, which she wrote during a sea voyage.

Despite the ominous backstory, you played this well and wistfully. Thanks for giving us hope with the ending narration. I think this changes from a major to a minor key near the end.

I think this is your first outdoor video I've seen. Very relaxing. I have the reggae version of "Rivers of Babylon," which features vocals, and this is a nice complement to it. I think that reading the music while you're playing harp is tougher than with piano, which I played in my younger days.
Playing outside can be tricky with the harp @michaelyoung7974. It is sensitive to temperature and weather conditions. The day I filmed this was just a perfect weather day!
You had comments turned off for "She Moved through the Fair," so I'll have to do it here. I have a version of that song with a vocal. I'm thinking it's better adapted to harp. Did you play it in G Major?

I love that term - "rounded notes". I am not sure if I am interpreting what you meant correctly, but that is the perfect way I would describe her sound. Each note is full and complete.
@@TheDubbert It's kind of difficult to explain. There's a way of striking piano keys so that the notes are more rounded. I've never played a harp, but I think I could manage the same effect on one. It's a matter of WANTING the rounded notes. A lot of people use fingering that results in a staccato style because they want to stand out, to be noticed. I started listening to harp music recently because I wanted something that might calm my nerves, remembering how harps have sounded to me in the past. What I have found out is that most performers try to stand out, and so they seem to get real pluckish with the harp strings. Also, they seldom 'sweep' the strings in order to produce chords. This young lady is sweeping the strings and backing off the finger pressure on each note.
Beautiful, Miriam! I have some of Kristine's easier music for small harp, and it's a lot of fun to play. A suite is a great work to have in your repertoire.
My first was a Fireside with 22 strings (G to G), then last November I added a Dusty Allegro, which has 26 strings (C to G). Those 4 extra low strings make it much easier to play a variety of music.
Thanks for saying the composers' names so we can learn their pronunciations. Listening to you is one of the factors making this July nice for me. I know very little about harps, but just from things I've seen, it seems you're positioning your thumbs optimally.
