Yeah it's on each individual player to load their stuff. I think that RCLootCouncil will just look at items individually people currently have equipped if you use that too. We have people do it weekly for mythic raid so people aren't looking like their stuff is in worse shape and are bigger upgrades than they really are.

@@karilovecake2323 What do I mean by “ fake morality”? “‘Fake morality’ is when someone, under the guise of some norms accepted by their society, gets an indulgence to do whatever crap they want to someone who is labeled as ‘evil’ by that very society.” In this case, Wyll, knowing what Astarion went through, is trying to play on his trauma, to remind him of the suffering he went through and to cause him emotional pain. And the fact that Astarion is a vampire (i.e. “evil” in the world of “moral heroes” like Wyll) kind of gives him the “right” to do so. A similar example (more cruel, it's not about words) is Jaheira, who tells about how she tortured a vampire spawn (not just killed, but tortured, chained to the sidewalk and enjoying the fact that the unfortunate realized the approach of death and then burned in agony).

@@onearmedscissor21Wyll is not a real person either. You also don't have to worry about who will “get revenge” on Wyll in their walkthroughs. You can adore Wyll all you want in your walkthroughs. In the game, there is no way for Tav to participate in dialogs between companions on the map, so the only possible reaction to such an insult inflicted on a beloved person is a good punch in the teeth. This is roleplay carried out through gameplay. After that, I will, of course, relax. 😉

Because some people don't seem to know how to enjoy and appreciate the fine writing. His rewrite was done within a much shorter period of time, but they managed to deliver not just one but two good characters (Wyll & Karlach). Wyll's story is the only story line that involves choices that lead to real sacrifices. His story is the only one in this entire game that makes me feel like my soul got pulled out of me and then squeezed and twisted by force. A kudo to the writer.

@@karilovecake2323 Trust me, I have equally unfavourable views of Astarion. If it's racism, then I'm racist to everyone (and also not white). Oh and I don't think he's a fake hero, I just think he's very convinced that being a hero is this black and white thing that's very simple to navigate. So he's laid out all these rules for himself and adopted this whole performance so he can be that hero. And he is _obsessed_ with that performance. It's his whole identity, because he has literally nothing left. He needs to be loved somehow, so he wears a mask that _he_ loves - that is quite difficult not to love, he thinks. But the poor lad is only a _boy,_ and he's been living this life from a turbulent, impressionable age. It seems like he's encountering moral dilemmas that actually make him pause for the first time - and I think that's just because he's always assumed it was simple. If you romance Astarion, Wyll antagonises him for a _very_ long time in banter - and he'll continue to do so (understandable) if you Ascend him - because he doesn't trust Astarion's intentions with you. Very noble and chivalrous, yes, but the relationship itself is also not really his business? He knows you as well as Astarion does, so it's more a matter of 'defending the innocent from the monster' than 'I'm protecting my bestie because I don't know you'. (Astarion also has a God awful banter line antagonising Wyll, so I'm not defending him. They're both petty bitches, it's just that Astarion usually wins the award for biggest bitch and Wyll usually isn't even in the running.) And you can't tell me he isn't self-obsessed when you hear the way he talks about 'the Blade'. He loves the Blade. He loves the performance. And I don't think it's real - I think it's real to the people around him, and I think it's real in that he's desperately manifesting it, but I also think Wyll wears the Blade to escape the version of himself that is dead to rights. For many complex reasons. I think Wyll will look back on all this when he's 40 and cringe a little bit lol.

But also I do agree wyll is misguided, he has very black and white thinking and stuff but it annoys me how it’s only towards astarion he truly changes it (if romanced astarion is a spawn) like wyll has a hatred towards goblins, which for a hero I think is kinda stupid, like fym you “almost” feel bad for a goblin child who’s been orphaned. But granted how the game frames goblins and how u practically have to be racist to goblins to get through the first act, it’s not that big of an offence. Plus only 2 of the origin companions aren’t racist and that’s Gale and Karlach. So my problem is more so with the fact that astarion of all people is glorified and wyll is dogged on, just because he made comments towards astarion. Especially given how astarion has said SO MUCH WORSE. Ur comment I didn’t see much wrong with it, wyll has his flaws and they did a crappy job resolving that, but at the same time the game doesn’t see having a hatred for goblins as a flaw… Sorry if this makes no sense, I’m not the best at articulating my words But to add I seriously think people hating wyll for the rat line is also stupid cus once again, astarion has said worse, and also who’s to say wyll even knows astarion has problems regarding rats, and even so it’s really not that big a deal as people make it out to be because astarion isn’t screaming, crying, throwing up on the floor and the fact that people demonize wyll for that because he “hurt” their favourite white man is stemming from racism and is rather cringy on their part.

Lol I had that dialogue as well, but I wasn't in a relationship with any of the party members. For me this happened immediately after Astarion confessed he was a vampire.

lol I love every moment Wyll's dark side comes out. The man actually cuts to the core when he doesn't like you.

It's the reason my Astarion romancing resist Durges all have Wyll's body stored in a box in camp.

They can actually hook up if you're not romancing either of them by the goblin party. Lae'zel says "he served his purpose well". Based on that and her aggressive forwardness, I uh. Think she hits all of Astarion's baggage exactly wrong as a person.

To be fair, if you don't romance either of them, they end up hooking up at the party so canonically he DOES try to lie with her if Tav isn't interested.

@@primrosett which is why I always start romance with him - just so she can't have him 😌 personally though I think he just agrees out of curiosity. He does say he never slept with a Githyanki and she replies maybe she can change that if he stops yapping but this only occurs if you have slept with her once. In another banter he says he likes spicy food as in, tough ladies, still - he can draw the line between sexual appetites and actual hunger.

I think even at his age he was supposed to understand that hahaha, such a romantic boy

At that point in the story Wyll is reading Astarion like a book 🤷

@@rattymenace My second favourite character, to be honest. Despite how Larian tried to make him more palatable, remnants of his moral complexity remain. In my current playthrough I've discovered layers to him I hadn't seen before.

Make it sound like he is so innocent when he had no guts to finish himself or to fight back before innocent blood gets on his hands, and he wants to become the monster that he wants to kill. He is so power-hungry. He is seen as a monster by Wyll, and Wyll does not like him for that. But sure, a white elf can get away with anything. Oh, he is a vampire as well? How great is that?! Lol. You do you in your game. Wyll is truly a beautiful man with a beautiful heart, and he will always be the best for me. I always keep him in the party ever since I can recruit him. He is willing to sacrifice himself for others. He is the true hero at heart, and a fearless blade sharp as ever. He is the only companion whom I am willing to romance with in all my playthroughs. I know people get tired about hearing or seeing good guys in games, films, and shows. We keep hearing and seeing them in these unreal things because we still don't have enough of them in reality.

What game are you playing? Did you ignore the entire 'spawn have no free will and he COULDN'T refuse any order Cazador gave him'? He IS innocent of everything he was forced to do while under Cazador's control because he was under compulsion. He was also being tortured, starved and the victim of SA through forced prostitution. He also couldn't 'end himself' or fight back because of those compulsions, it had nothing to do with 'not having the guts'. Spawn Astarion isn't a monster in any way. He's just as much a victim as the 7K spawn that Cazador kept for the ritual. Ascending is his BAD ending and it only happens if YOU choose to help him. Wyll is hardly a 'hero at heart'. He's a spoiled brat that pretends to be a hero while he's nasty and rude. The fact that you brought up race shows that you're a complete fool.

To make sure that we are talking about the same Wyll, this is regarding the official-release Wyll, not the EA Wyll. Those fellow spawns of Astarion's whom we met a few times in the game don't seem to be having no consciousness. I am not talking about those in cages. Are you telling me that every single action that they take around the clock is due to a specific order from Cazador? Like breathing, eating, 24/7 full mind control, no rest, no breaks. The vampire lord was really busy and occupied. Well, if that was truly the case, I guess I must have miss judged him. Sorry to Astarion. 🤣I should have him feed on my Tav for more than once. I plan to let him feed on my male Durge on a regular basis. It is truly a fine scene, isn't it? No wonder people like him! I only allowed him to drink my Tav's blood once in my current playthrough. It was so weird when he brought it up, and I agreed out of kindness to a new friend at the risk of my Tav's life. I wonder how many Tavs got killed by him there by failing the skill check. Luckily, my Tav is a barbarian, so not hard to push him away. Before I accidently owe Astarion another apology, can we confirm that he had free will when he tried to sneak on my Tav, my angry stranger friend? Oh, there is no way Astarion will ever ascend in my playthroughs. But didn't we need to do a DC18 roll to talk him out of it? He is not needed to beat Cazador, but I brough him to help him finish what he wanted to do. I also heard that he would be angry if you don't bring him to the Cazador fight. What a brave man and true hero! I may have really been a fool. I did not even know I could release him during the fight. Lol. I found out later that all I had to do was to get close to him and help release him. My brave and kind barbarian Tav, my true love and true hero Wyll 😁, and our poor Halsin who does not get to share us killed Cazador and his minions together. Since Act 1, Astarion has been constantly giving me negative energy, so I can't say I like him. I did not help him kill Yurgir. It turns out my Tav who also has a good heart was right. Killing Yurgir was unnecessary, and we naturally gained one more ally after defeating Raphael (btw, we were able to kill that devil on the 1st attempt thanks to my baby Wyll for taking the most damage and destroying the most pilars). No 30 dice roll needed at the House of Hope to convince anyone. What Astarion wanted to know will be reviewed anyway. No need to be so eager to kill a poor guy tricked and trapped by the devil. I must say that I do like the conversation with Astarion after finishing Cazador. He thanked me for saving him from himself. I accepted that as how it was delivered. That was warm, kind, and nice. I don't feel any struggle in his entire story line, and I could only wish we face less struggles in Wyll's. Astarion is not complicated at all. None of them are. On the other hand, what has Wyll done other than these banter jokes to earn him such a bad reputation? They basically say these type of things to each other all the time. I mean all of them. I just don't remember what horrible thing Wyll has done. He is not perfect. He has limits. It makes him more real to me, and I am happy with his whole package. I kinda hoped that he would treat my Tav like how Gale would if Tav turns into a mind flayer to save the world, but that is Okay. At least he stays, and his concerns are legitimate, especially given his own experience. I feel I am moved and touched more often during Wyll's quest line and along the amazing journey with him by my side. Btw, I did not push Astarion when I heard his mean words on both me and Wyll. I wanted to give him some hush words, but sadly there was no such option. lol. I guess we don't just fall in love with people randomly, do we? 😁 About that I said "white elf", his personal story line is literally called "The Pale Elf". I guess my bad for using the word white instead of pale. I remembered it wrong. Please forgive me, my angry stranger friend. I'll be sure to remember to refer to him as "The Pale Elf" from now on. Depends on how you play it. His “i love you” bit at the tiefling party has a different delivery and animation depending on how high your approval is and if you slept with him before that point. He still denies having caught feelings, but that was a legitimate slip

Wyll weirdly is the one who reads Astarion easiest in normal interactions. Like here and when you have Wyll in your party when you recruit Astarion and he says our vampy is "all bark and no bite" which is true because when you fail your checks with him he lets you go. Of course if the tadpoles hadn't interrupted he probably would've stabbed you because of misidentification as a thrall.

@@MooncrafterUTAU that's super interesting! Do you know any videos that show a comparison between the low and high approval versions? I'm usually at about as high approval as possible at that point and also usually do the love scene before the party so I'm thinking I haven't seen both!

@@nozomi90 unfortunately not since patch 7, I deleted my old campaigns cause of third party mods to make sure I didn’t brick my game, but if you get the romance scene before the party that’s the only way to get the “i love you” line and flirtation when I checked other videos posted. I also didn’t get the “i didn’t like you, not at first” line in act 2 because the romance scene triggered before the party. With surviving trauma like his, alexithymia is a common AF symptom where he can’t recognize his own symptoms. He confuses fawning for manipulation on purpose. So no matter what your approval he will blame his fawning tendencies on being a manipulator - what else could it be? (Love, you dense idiot /affectionate)

I'm just a sucker for the subtle differences this game gives us depending on how we play and I know Astarion in particular has quite a few of those instances, but I tend to work on his approval and get into his romance rather quickly every time, so I was just interested thinking I might have missed on one of those moments! It makes me think about how his first love scene changes depending on if you slaughtered or defended the grove, which is a very amazingly placed change that tells a lot about his mindset early on. So yeah, me just being a nerd about that kinda stuff lol
