I like this version and I do agree there are parts of it that are missing. Like the main big melody of this whole piece, this heroic section seems too brassy. It's still good but would've been nice to have a strong clarinet and saxophone sound to give it a good rich color. But overall still good
The glissando around 4:39 never fails to give me the chills. This has been my comfort orchestra video since around 2016. Also, I love how the clarinets really resemble the sound of a human choir. I love it.
I played percussion for this piece back around 2000 or so. To this day the second movement is one of the most evocative pieces of music I have ever heard. It makes me feel like I am perhaps experiencing memories from another life, like great mysteries I can almost see but can't touch. Such incredible beauty and very well played.
