Been watching tests on RU-vid. According to people's test micro techs HRC are lower than what they should be? I guess that's probably a number of other companies as well
So I’ve found a fake online. $29. I love the 940/9400. I carry a boker Kalashnikov aus-8. Is this fake 9400 going to be worse than my Boker that I love?
You gotta be rich or brain-dead to pay $500 + for a f*ckin pocket knife that's not even worth $200. Also, the fake one is much more of an interesting conversation starter when you're being honest about it. In fact, all my buddies want one! 😃
soo, which one was is the fake? would have helped if they were identified and pointed out from the start. everything gets thrown together and moved around which made it even more confusing
"Just as good and will do" Like comparing Husky to Proto Tool? Both do the same job fairly well but id rather use a dead blow hammer on a Proto and not have a Husky shatter on me.
I got a factory seconds one for a Lincoln, and it's just as good as the real one. At $160.00 cheaper, you can't go wrong, and believe it's a myth their made in the US.
N690 has two temper ranges. It can use secondary hardening in the higher temp range. As for the autoclave, its probably not going to be that high of temp to cure handle scales. And you'll likely do that process without the blade.
@@Northernknivesthanks!! I also have an OG Tachyon TI (2002) from my early university days. I carried it everyday for protection as it was a dodgy city with kids wielding blades in every side street. Decided to only use it in a life threatening situation
Do you guys ever think that perhaps Benchmade has knives actually manufactured in Taiwan? Odd that it's Bugout, 2 versions of Tagged Out, Claymore straight edge, along with two to three others that are being cloned and not everything they make.
90 percent of real microtech knives are expensive trash and if you send it in you will wait for 9 months Easley because they sux so much they have a back load
@@Northernknives "Growing pains"?? They're three decades old and one of the most popular high end knife brands in the entire world. There's no excuse when Vespa sells their "ripper" for $100 dollars and uses m390 at 60HRC with machining and inlays identical to something thats $750+
BENCHMADE REALLY NEEDS TO PRODUCE AN 'XL VERSION' OF THE FULL IMMUNITY! If it was a 3.5 to 4 inch blade with a full 4-finger grasp handle - that would be an awesome EDC blade! I love that they made it from CPM-M4 as well as the beautiful aluminum handle scales with diamond texture, so I would hope they would keep this. I was thinking they could call the XL version: "BENCHMADE FULL IMMUNITY - BOOSTER SHOT"! (Maybe even an XXL version and call it "Double-Boosted"!)
" We're here today to tell you why NOT to buy the knockoff".....Not sure you really achieved that. in fact just the opposite. You convinced me not to spend $535 vs $38 on the knockoff. You think I give a care about the rockwell hardness on a POCKET KNIFE!! As a pro chef, the only time rockwell matters to me is on legit Japanese Chef knives.
S30v is still an amazing steel and considering the size of the OM you’re not going to be using it for combat or splitting trees. Now for a larger knife you may have a valid point wanting something tougher but either way at the end of the day it’s about personal choice..
The clone I have today has one solid 3 sided button and has an almost exact blade size and width of the true glykon. Pretty crazy. And it was 45$ no noise when shaken blade open or closed it’s zero shaking noise. Very impressed with the newer clones compared to whatever they gave y’all in this video.
I own two of those 20.5 counterfeits. The version you show there I bought first, price was 30 €. I wanted to check out the lock… Knife is excellent, very good machining, easy to take apart and to maintain. Springs can easily be replaced, blade centering can easily be adjusted via pivot screw. Steel on the plastic handle version from CN is some 8CRMoV stuff, not AUS10A, not D2. Since I like that knife very much I wanted to buy an original. Unfortunately there’re very little offers here in Europe. The few offers present only had fugly colors, prices beginning at 160 €. After several days of also checking market situation not only here in the EU but also in the US, I decided to wait with a purchase. Demko definitely deserves praise for this lock and I’m willing to pay, but I want to buy a knife with the very color combination that I like. I also got the impression Demko is working hard to find a way to increase offers and adjust the price. Honestly, I find 160 € “a bit steep” for AUS10A manufactured in TW. Nothing against TW manufacturing, they can be excellent, but the materials used should match the price. I also dislike to “have to buy” a fugly color combination. Buying aftermarket scales would increase the price even more and the colors I’d have been interested in wouldn’t have been available even in the US (lol). I bought a titanium AD 20.5 counterfeit instead, cost 45 €. This thing is a massive upgrade to that plastic handle version. Not only because of the upgraded handle material, but also the lock works even better than on the cheaper version, spring tension is more comfortable and this version uses indeed D2 steel. Both versions came with that nice little pouch and cleaning fabric. Demko better finds a way to put his design out on the market for a competitive price. The Chinese are doing very good with this particular model. If you think the plastic version you had there was good, you should definitely check out the ti version.
