Dedicated to bringing you MTB for beginners, low fund rippers, and hardheaded hardtail-ers! Taking my entry level hardtail to places maybe I shouldn’t, I’ll show you how I shred on a budget. Follow along with my escapades and let’s have some fun!
I still have the pump and it still works great. I’ve gotten a couple others over the years that were included with a bike or shock I bought, so this one hasn’t seen as much use as of late. But still a solid pump.
There r definitely some out there! But u will b hard pressed to ever see one. They r so elusive! The waterway is a little bigger water than I would expect them to hang out in regularly. But there r a ton of little drainage canals and what not that I’m sure r home to some gators! (Also, related sorta, the Alligator Adventure Park is just down the road. U can pay for a tour to see all kinds of reptiles!)
It is pretty much an XC course, however, there r a lot of extra jumps and gaps built in for the rowdy crowd! Some drops, jumps, berms, it’s a good time!
🙏🙏 Oh man! Yea, u will definitely have to get some laps in out there!! There r a ton of cool people that ride their regularly too u might bump into as well!
@@HardTailHero that sounds awesome. My bike is there finally and getting my gear all together, it’s a hardtail too! It would be cool to find some riders to ride with.
In charsleton near goose creek there’s a place called marington forest. It’s hard to get in because it’s a military base but they have some nice jumps on the bmx loop
@jamiebaker3730 ooh I’ve spent a ton of time over the years in and around Santee lakes. Never knew there was a trail! Will definitely have to check it out!
Well yes and no. It’s still got everything it had in 2018, however they have added a couple brand new loops with some really incredible features! (Skinnies, jumps, wooden berms, etc.) I actually have a video on the channel about it from last summer. There is even more new stuff since that video, but it will give u an idea of what to expect. Hope u make it out there! It’s totally worth a trip!
Yea for sure. The map apps(mtb project, trailforks, etc.) r still pretty behind on the current layout. Do u use the Strava app? U might b able to find where the new stuff is through other peoples rides. For the new loop, I have been parking up in the field and starting there. Once u go back into the woods, u will come to a trail split after about half a mile. The new loop starts there to the left. It will loop u back over to the other side of the field. Hope this helps!
I think this pump is junk. I can't inflate the shock past 250psi and when I stop pumping air will slowly seep out. That may not be the pumps fault but not being able to strong arm it past 250 is a problem when I need to get mor pressure in the shock. I can't see how they werw able to review this at 350psi. Seems highly unlikely or even impossible
Nice video! I think I saw you at Brown's Creek on July 5th.., you stopped to help me out with some directions for me to shortcut out of there due to my busted derailleur. This is a great spot, well worth the drive from Wilmington. I need to get back there soon, it's currently the only one open since Isaias.
Thanks Bryan! Always glad to help! Yea man they have still been perfecting and reworking the new stuff at browns, definitely worth another trip!! I need to do the same myself. Maybe I’ll see u out there!
We came across your channel, and I don't think we have been here before. After watching this video, we will be back. I hope you start making more videos, because we will be watching lol. That sounds a little creepy huh. Anyway, good job man, liked and subscribed.
Great video! Brought my bike along to MB for my son's week long baseball tournament. Found "The Hulk" and was pleasantly surprised. Rode it yesterday and was amazed at such a fun ride (at the beach!). Hope to get back a couple more times before we leave. This project is an awesome example of what other municipalities should do to get MTB trails in close proximity to everyone. Additionally, the local riders were super welcoming! Thanks #myrtlebeachareamountainbikeassociation
That’s awesome Jason! I’m stoked u had such a good experience. The folks down there really r welcoming and hard working! Every time I visit, the trail improves. Thanks for watching!
Some friends and I are looking to ride Browns Creek next week. We live in the Wilmington area. You should check out Blue Clay Bike Park in Wilmington, and Brunswick Nature Park in Leland. Pretty good places to ride with some decent challenging sections of trail. That is if you haven't been to either of them. Great video by the way.
Thanks so much! I live in Wilmington as well, so I typically get out to blue clay and BNP a little more regularly but browns is the real deal! Little over an hour drive but we’ll worth the day trip! Let me know and I’ll try to meet u out there
Thanks for the vids ! O have the same bike and was looking for inspiration on upgrades and you confirmed that I could drop to a 2.8 plus tire . I think I might just copy your whole tire set up!! Lol Thnx man!
That’s rad Robert! I can definitely say that the slightly skinnier tires make this thing a lot more agile! And the dropper is a must for sure! Thanks for the feedback man! And thanks for watching!
You need to check out the myrtle beach skills park. It’s at the south end. Across the street from myrtle beach state park. Next door to Myrtle beach Harley Davidson. It’s awesome
I totally agree daniel! Got the chance to go out there back in the fall and man I was impressed! I need to make it back down and check out the new improvements.
@smvogel73 there’s a skills park not far from the Hulk called “Lil Hulk”. It’s close to the water front. It recently got a full revamp with all sorts of new features! Great place for beginners and kids. Not a lot of mileage tho. The big Hulk will have lots and lots of features but not really a dedicated skills area. I might recommend warming up at the skills park, then cruising over to big Hulk for some laps! Hope you end up bringing the steed and getting some cranks in!
Depending on how “used” it is, I would say that’s not far off. I can attest to it’s quality and longevity, if taken care of properly of course. Main points would b to look at the forks (still move freely, no weird noises), next the drive train (make sure it shifts thru all the gears smoothly), make sure the wheels r mostly straight when u spin them (no large wobbles). Definitely try to ride it around just enough to make sure it fits and is ridable. Everything else can b easily fixed or replaced for not much money, given it’s working enough to ride (I.e. handlebars, pedals, cranks all in one piece). I hope this helped! Sorry for the lengthy response. Thanks for watching!
Anybody have a thru axle end nut for the rear or where to get one? My dropped out and cant find one anywhere. A simple part makes the whole bike useless.

Any level rider can ride the hulk for sure. The park is designed to have opportunities to improve ur skills. Pretty much all the features have easy ride arounds.
On this day, we parked at Guion parking lot (near the top) and just took Hickory Mountain Road pretty much right to the start of the trail. The climb back to the lot isn’t as much fun, but hopping straight out of the car and smashing down Ridgeline is the dream!
*I assembled my self in 2 hours which was not very tough.»»>**share4.photo/diambackbike?ҏ** Bicycle looks pretty nice but I think will have to take it for tuning. Overall, I am very satisfied with this purchase.*
They r actually carpets believe it or not!! The soil there by the beach is extremely sandy. So they form their shape for a berm or jump out of sand and dirt, pack it down really really well. Then cover it permanently with carpets. It’s kinda like Astor turf. I was skeptical the first time, but trust me they can hold some traction!!
