If I have a leak in my central heating system and I want to stop water from flowing into it... Do I switch off that first lever on the left? Assuming this is so, how do I then drain the rest of the water out of the Central heating system... at a radiator or at/from the boiler?
That first pipe on the left with the white plastic bit facing the front has a nut behind it. I saw it drip water today where the nut is. After few days of installing a new one. Shall I call the engineer back or see if it repeats again?
The white plastic pipe is the condense waste pipe. If it's dripping it needs to be sorted. The drip/water is slightly acidic and can cause more damage to things than standard water would.
I think with Worcester boilers it's a paid extra to have that type of filling loop. You might have the standard braided hose type filling loop. It's difficult for me to advise without seeing your boiler/heating system.
You might have a different type of filling loop installed. Sometimes you might have a braided hose type filling loop installed which is on the pipework of the heating system instead. But without seeing your system, I cannot advise if this is the case.
You don't typically bleed mains supplied taps as the pressure is usually good enough to remove any air/blockages. If it's just one tap playing up, I would say it's more likely to be 1 of three things: 1. The tap itself 2. Isolation valve isn't fully open 3. Bad pipework Without seeing it myself, I cannot give the best advice. Thanks
You've got a leak somewhere on your heating system. Could be to do with your boiler or pipework/radiators. Check to see if the outside copper pipe is leaking
Hello i have a question. I have the same EPH CONTROL switch and the same boiler. When i press on Manual it turns green but then turns off and becomes red after a minute. Im having issue to turn the heater on. The fire symbol on the Baxi comes on and goes away. Should the EPH control always stay green if i press on Manual button?
I've found that if the controller is wired into OpenTherm, the manual button does not work. I suspect your control is wired into the boiler by the OpenTherm terminals.
At 16 years old, the customer didn't want to start chucking money at it. They were pretty happy to get the boiler changed. But yes, it could be just the gasket, but I've tried replacing just the gasket on boilers not even 5 years old and still ended up changing the Hex
Yes for identification purposes it should be. But the more important issue is if the valve has been tested and rated for gas. I didn't bother to check with this one but some manufacturers produce lever valves that are rated to work with liquids and gases. But all they do is change the handle cover colour for identification purposes.
Im just more concerned that you decided to open the valve under the floor filling the void with gas like no offence but thats a bit foolish i know you said you know where the ecv was but what if that seized on you 😂
The reality is that although this doesn't meet safety current standards its probably been like that for an age & was quite happy until this happened. Literally no difference between whats here and an early gas hob.
The biggest problem is it has been left uncapped and just relying on the integrity of the seals for sealing, even though it's gas rated (EN331) they will deteriorate over time.
Not in England brother gas is ptfe tape and red water atfe tape and blue. The difference is temperature vs materials. It's a visual aid so you do not get it wrong hope this helps. Kind regards from England
@@paschaldunne147 I will confirm that it is not a dog. It's old pipe lagging that just happens to look like the shape of a dog. But it does look quite dog like in this particular video
Thank you so much. Fixed this problem thanks to your video. I was feeling miserable with a tonne of washing up and feeling chilly even though it’s August!
Of it looks exactly the same as this boiler, it would be the same way. If it doesn't look the same, it might have a different type of filling loop. Maybe a braided hose type
