Fantastic video mate, I have personally played a decent amount of f1 manager and can attest to a similar experience with FM. The f1 manager community is pretty split as it lacks quite a bit of the quality of life stuff that can make it interesting once you figure out to just max underfloor every development period but still a heap of fun watching your car and drivers get better over the course of a season!
Honestly am getting closer to giving F1 Manager a solid try - word on the street is that FM25 is heading to a bit of a dumpster fire so may need to find something else to get my fix!
Haha that was the point of the comparison, rather than picking out something like Elden Ring or Lies of P. Makes more sense to compare the two games from the same studio.
Idk why the reviews seem off to me. Like we're not experiencing the same thing Combat- 9/10 Story- 5/10 Stealth- 7/10 Animations 7/10 Graphics- 6/10 Overall the game is super fun and recommended, but it simply is not close to a 8,9 or 10 overall. The not being able to climb and move through the environment is prob my biggest complaint. Trying to sneak and get a few kills is sometimes tedious because of this. But over a GOOD game, just not GREAT
It's an interesting thing that as I've grown more distant to the game I definitely feel like I'm looking far more fondly on Wo Long rather than Rise of the Ronin. Absolutely loved both but I've got no itch to go back and play through Ronin again so soon. Totally agree about the climbing and movement, one of my biggest pet peeves about open world games is when they try to give the illusion of mantling all over the environment but half the time you end up just clipping through a rock and a tree trying to get up two feet!
@@evanstanislas898 I’ve just taken a look at the steam page and immediately wishlisted! Another game that has caught my eye recently is Gilded Destiny, it’s a full on economy sim of the Industrial Revolution, and it seems like it’s one to keep tabs on as it comes up to release.
this is way better than I expected - in the fact that it lets you play parts of what team ninja does well, but then adds a freedom - reminds me very much of what from did with elden ring actually!
@@CarlosRodela Absolutely, I feel like the ability to approach things from different angles was great, as opposed to Wo Long which felt a little too linear in how you can tackle the tough enemies to me.
I watched this video a while ago and got it recommended again. All I can say is that YOU SHOULD PLAY THE OTHER TEAM NINJA GAMES! Nioh 1 and 2 have great combat! And since you played Wo Lomg, you are already used to the looter mechanic even if you don’t enjoy it as much as other alternatives!
@@watki_ I applaud your enthusiasm. Nioh is a game that explores the civil war/Sengoku Period of Japan. And the funny part is that Nioh 2 is for the most part a PREQUEL. So if I look at things logically, Nioh 2 is by far the best place to start. Both because it’s a prequel so the story AND because IMO Nioh 2 has better and more balanced gameplay. Because Nioh 2 focuses on 1v1’s for the most part while Nioh 1 is filled with GANK BOSSES that might drive people away at times. Hope this was helpful. And if you do play any Nioh game, my biggest hope is “LEARN TO SWITCH STANCES, DO THAT NATURALLY IN GAMEPLAY AND YOU WILL MAKE THE GAMEPLAY SHINE!”.
@@darkar2043 Wizard of Legend was one of the first games i actually got on my switch, i never finished it, so knowing me I’ll just go straight to the sequel haha. Also very keen for Caravan Sandwitch!
This is nuts. I listened to this whole thing at work and then saw the followers. Jesus man. Top notch review better than channels woth 100k plus. Got a sub
@@galmflight2632 It’s on my list! going through a couple palette cleansers before I get into it. I also picked up Stranger of Paradise on sale at the start of this year so that’s also coming up soon.
I heard that it had a very slow start (I think because it came out around the same time as Dragons Dogma 2), but i also saw an article recently that said after its went on sale for Days of Play, it’s picked up a lot of pace and is doing as well as Nioh 2 had in the same time period. I think this is definitely one of those games that positive word of mouth is helping it out, which is great to see!
very well done video. i love that i had got to play Ishin first, it gave me a better perspective on some of the goings on in this turbulent period for japan. it was also just very interesting to see scenes correspond in both games. i do like the stat sets and the true feeling of a growing power in japan (being the player) alongside the strife of the nation was gripping. I can honestly say I had gotten attached to particular character and freaked out when certain story beats play out. again, great video. thank you for the time and dedication put on this.
Thanks heaps! Honestly i feel like it’s an under-utilised period of history, I actually only first encountered it in the Total War Shogun games, but it’s super fascinating to me, and I think Team Ninja used the interactive format perfectly to tell the story to a wider audience. Fingers crossed for DLC but not sure where they would go with it
@@benjiago6800 The same as you funnily enough. I was going for someone else early on but certain “story events” meant that wasn’t really possible sadly.
lmao his explanation about graphics is so delusion. Name me one game where your dancing around having the blood pour out on the ground, and all the other delusional expectation yapping. Most games make a particle effect, then have blood splash then dissappear, or never connect with the floor. Most the graphics in this game are literally the same as most other games, and it's higher graphics than many of the games that launched on xbox over the past few years.
Yep you’re spot on. That was why I made sure to mention the technology to reach that kind of presentation is about 25 years away. The whole graphics section was in defence of the game and people being overly critical when the game first came out and comparing it to games with ray tracing etc. It just had a big target on its back because it was a Sony exclusive. I’ll definitely admit that the editing lost a big chunk of the section where that was explained better though, so I can see where you’re coming from. Appreciate you taking the time to give your thoughts. Also absolutely agree on your last point about Xbox.
I'm very glad this video just got recommended to me, four videos and all bangers? Here's hoping that your channel gets all the attention it deserves in the future.
I really do appreciate your feedback, very thankful you’ve taken the time to watch my content! I’ve got a few more videos on the way but if you’ve got any other ideas on what you’d like me to cover I’m happy to hear them out 😃
I've yet to play a short hike but i know i'll enjoy every sencond of it! Nice video <3 Also, if you could take a look at Solar Ash or Chants of Sennaar, just want to know your opinion of those two games and if you'd make a video of them? ty <3
Thanks! It’s an excellent game and as i said in the video, worth the price. I’ve actually got Solar Ash noted down to play pretty soon, I love the look of that game. Chants of Sennaar is also a game i’ve heard great things about but I worry i don’t have the brainpower for it 😂
@@watki_ Nice! I'm looking forward to a video about Solar Ash. Regarding Chants of Senaar, although you'll need to be smart for some puzzles, the game is focused on exploration and NPC questlines, which is taught at the very beginning of the game. Doing those two things gives you tools for words or puzzles. There's never a time you have to guess a word out of nowhere; if that happens, it's probably because you haven't explored enough and don't have enough hints. It's one of my favorite games, for sure!
I highly recommend Out of the Park Baseball if you like spreadsheet games (for both sports fans and nerds). Don't worry, I didn't really watch or know anything about baseball before I played it either.
@@watki_ tbh, I haven't played this year's one yet but I have heard good things. It doesn't change that much year to year (although I think this year's one added a player development side). The gameplay loop of building a team and weighing up winning now vs making sure the club is deep enough to be good long-term is quite compelling. I just really dislike the RNG of the playoffs :P
Appreciate the feedback! I've definitely been thinking about how I can spin up a video on Football Manager in specific (more as an excuse to play it even more) but honestly I don't know how I could do it justice, just too many hours to condense into one video haha.
Great video. I know where you're coming from. I too, have spent thousands of hours on the football manager series. However, you ruined all your credibility by admitting you have a girlfriend 😃
You know what I can't argue with that haha. I just treat her like an assistant manager as I try to explain my strikerless asymmetric system that will surely get me promotion this year.
Appreciate you checking the video out! Honestly I do think the algorithm is in a pretty good place for smaller creators at the moment, all things considered. It's exciting times!
Oh yeah...the moment I realised I enjoyed EU4 and was really good at it was the moment my hours skyrocketed. I remember starting playing MP at patch 1.29 and for a time you couldn't come across a group that didn't know one of my accounts 😂 The good old days before EU4 MP died. Map my colour? I happy now. Ooga booga
I remember when i first start playing and didn't understand the value of different provinces so I would literally just try and conquer and colonise the biggest provinces just so I can have the most of my colour on the map hahah
Appreciate the feedback - I'm still very new to this so we'll keep on building :) I use spreadsheets all the time at work so makes perfect sense I want to do the same in my spare time haha
They're all great options and seem to be where most of my time disappears haha. I actually think Big Ambitions has a new update coming soon that will expand the map and add a bunch of new systems so keen to check that out!
Hey all, it looks like there was some issues with the upload and youtube compression and a lot of the footage has become pretty grainy. Apologies for the inconvenience! Otherwise, I hope you enjoy the video and what I have to say on this topic :)
Sable is a weirdly fantastic game. When I was playing it, it didn't feel *that* special moment-to-moment, but when it came to the ending, everything kind of came together and the final choice of mask felt incredibly impactful all of a sudden. It's something I've rarely felt with other games.
Exactly how it felt for me, I was going through the motions like I would any other game, but when I reached the end it made me realise all those little side quests I was doing really added up to something meaningful and character defining for Sable - it was such thoughtful game design to make that possible.
I'm glad you were able to do what I always wanted: show hundreds of people how great Sable is and that it's more than just a game. Please, everyone who is thinking about playing Sable, do it; don't spend another second thinking about it and go play the game. It was worth every second I spent playing it and I feel like my life has changed ever since then. To Watki, my favorite Sable song is Badlands (Daytime)- this is besides the masterpiece song when you leave the tutoral (which i won't spoil either)
I was in a similar boat to so many people with Sable. I had heard good things about it but kind of played it on a whim, and was so glad that I did. Totally agree on this game being life changing, and unpacking how it really made me feel in this video was really cathartic in a way. In terms of my favourite song, I love the different energies you can get from Better The Mask or Beetle Detour - Japanese Breakfast has such wide range. But the one that always sticks with me is the Main Menu theme. Loading the game up and having that piano play really set a tone I wasn't expecting initially, and intrigued me to play even more.
Hi, Watki. I have a pretty good eye for up-and-comers in the RU-vid creator world. Repeat this quality of video with other popular titles at least twice a month and I wouldn't be surprised to find you with more than 10K at the end of the year. Until then, you have at least one more subscriber today. I hope my full watch time helps you with the algorithm.
Hi all, hope you enjoy this video! Bit of a different one than usual as it's a bit more about my own experiences than anything else. As usual, please sound off in the comments if you have anything else you'd like me to make a video on! Thanks for watching <3
Thank you for shining a light on this issue!! Nothing has stifled my gaming experience with large name games more than literally crying over why I can't see what is happening not to mention how much that makes me feel like a gaming imposter. Would LOVE to see more videos on the baby gamer experience and other challenges the game design industry faces (i.e. why Stardew is the best) 🤩
Appreciate the feedback! When making this video I took the time to look at all the 'blockbuster' games that have been coming out lately and literally 90% of them require the player to be controlling the camera from a third person perspective, so I worry some players will be missing out entirely because of this issue! In terms of upcoming videos, I've been working on a script for 'task-based' gaming and Stardew absolutely is going to be the main character in that one. Thanks!
really fascinating video!! it’s crazy how much things like coordinating the camera can serve as such a massive barrier to entry to a lot of the best experiences in gaming that so many of us in the community who have grown up with games take for granted.
Thanks! As I was making this video, something that I realised is I don't actually 'remember' learning how to use a controller, but I'm sure as a child it had to happen sometime, and like riding a bike, its just always going to be stored away in my gamer brain from here on. Imagine reaching your 20s and never being taught how to ride a bike? It would be so intimidating and overwhelming to pick up, especially watching everyone else do it without a second thought.
Hey all, thanks for checking out my first video! If anyone has any suggestions for other topics you'd like me to cover, or potentially any game suggestions that might help with this little 'conundrum' please feel free to let me know in the comments. Thanks and happy gaming!
