Acting, music, location, story made this movie very enchanting. First true love is always memorable. Diane Lane was superb as well as Laurence Olivier and Thelonious Bernard. We need more movies like this one.

Wes Montgomery covered this beautifully on 'Down Here on the Ground', if memory serves (and, it may not...).

That movie did a good job of showing NYC on the brink of destruction. Ed Koch was the beginning of the turnaround, but it was Rudy before he was diagraced that did the dirty work that had to be done.

My cousin performed the play (called "Murder on the Nile") in college and played a very convincing murderer.

I think I first saw this a college class "philosophy in film". Maybe I had seen it on cable as a kid but never really thought about it. There's a Richard Rush short doc he made about it available that's fun to watch. Poor guy never really got his big shot as a major director after his first try Color of Night flopped. Maybe he worked as a script doctor.

Not only was this one of the best mini series of ALL TIME!! But it also had some of best music. This being the pinnacle. Love this mini series. Love its solid drama, its romance, its gritty violence, its depiction of what’s gained and lost through brutal war. You hear it all in this towering opening theme. Which will live on forever as I stand, in my heart. ❤
