@@omg_tesla I wasn’t referring to the lap time, but rather to the point that it appeared to understeer a lot, and then go into snap oversteer. Is this not the case?
@@taforth with the set up I was running yes, but the other run I did was much better. It was more stable than this run with a different sway bar setup and tires.
Nice lap. Very interesting comparing to my modded 2020 M3P. The 2024 is 9mph faster on the front straight and significantly faster on every straight. Get the min speed up and it is going to be flying! My lap for reference. 1:36.6 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-P5oZIruKtG0.htmlsi=iL0bmYsowPb02zKE
@@omg_teslasaw a video from Nürburgring, regen overheated the motors after a full lap, but the breaks were to weak to handle it alone. Did you experience break overheating?
@@Mr21December2012 Probably the M3P used on Nürburgring was European - it means it runs LG battery that tends to overheat more than the USA Panasonic version
Nice vid! This clip: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D_45EO5BauU.htmlsi=vjoe9fMB2JfZRz9v shows my stock 2024 MYP at speed of 36mph; all in entering, during and exiting a sharp left turn, followed by an immediate curve to the right, when urgently clearing an intersection safely under an unexpected yellow.
So how many laps does it take for it to start power limiting because of thermals? I’m guessing it starts to slow down significantly after only 1-2 laps..
A G meter with a 1 G baseline is very scientific, but in cars kind of unusual I think? As humans we have kind of accepted that 1 G is happening in standstill or on a steady course. We want to see what the car is doing relative to standing still or cruising.
Great driving!!! Today I experienced brakes over heating and battery overheating at Buttonwillow it was over 110 degrees today. But it always occurred right after the warm up lap so I wasn’t even able to get one clean hot lap before performance was reduced. Did you experience that at Laguna?
Hey David, it’s Tim Rishie and I commented on your Facebook post earlier. I did get the battery thermal limit after 1.5 laps. Laguna has a lot of elevation gains so it definitely heats up the battery somewhat quicker
That’s like one of the few things they’re known for lol Tesla is one of the few American car companies that makes a car that can actually turn and not drift into a crowd *cough cough mustangs, Camaros, chargers, challengers* this and corvettes are essentially the only American cars that can make a turn at over 10MPH without losing grip and earning the nickname “crowd killer”
@@CanisoGaming I’ve been following Tesla for about ten years. I’ve seen so many comments online and on RU-vid saying that Teslas are a “one trick pony” and only fast in a straight line. I’ve seen this incorrect sentiment countless times
Thanks for sharing the video! What was the state of charge at the beginning and end of the lap? I tried to zoom in on the video but couldn't make it out clearly.
Still have battery heating issues. that can't get solved since it has more power on the same battery pack as last gen. The car is pulling more power on the high end so it will create more heat. I had Regen set to 45% on this session which help reduced it from heating up quickly, but still is a problem
@@omg_tesla Find a way to pre-cool the battery by a few degrees before your runs. Battery has high thermal mass, so precooling by even a few degrees will make a big difference.
