While it is an excellent hotel on the site of the original, the new place has that late 1960's Japanese modern aesthetic which can be a bit "glossy" compared to more modern places in Tokyo which are warm with lots of wood and inviting such as the Park Hyatt which even itself is starting to show its age.
Was there in 2009 it looks great still when you come in the front door. I recall girls who operated the elevators for you and were always so polite. The culture in Japan was very impressive as the people were very respectful of one another and visitors.
That's the thing about Japan, the service is always great, no matter what the star rating of the hotel. Makes one wonder why people of other cultures are not as civilized (as a general rule).
The last time i was here was in 2007, i recall there are always girls in kimonos standing stationed in front of the access corridors to my room. They always greeted me and bow before and after i swipe the access card to the glass doors. Did they get rid of those? What a loss.

Sweeeeeeet! Do you by chance recommend any good LUTS for editing in post production? I just got the Mavic Pro 2 and I'm excited to see how the video turns out! I'm trying to find some great LUTS for the drone footage. 😀
