My goodness this is beautiful. On the Nature of Daylight is my favorite. I woke up to this on my recommended and what a way to start off the day. Thank you for this
Do you feel a slight unease playing from 1:44 to 1:59? You've got an extra bar in there at 1:44 (bar 23). That works when it is played as ab accompaniment to Ava Maria, but isn't in the original, and to my ear sounds awful when just playing the prelude.
Hi Robert Thanks so much for puting up this performance of the Kuhlau Sonatina. It is a beautiful piece..overall so joyous and innocent. I am learning this piece as a late adult returner to piano and although I have yet to properly 'master' the 1st movement, I really learnt a lot from your playing of this piece. Your timing is really steady and even and you are quite confident with the notes. In fact, now that you are confident I think could be a bit more daring with your dynamics and play some of those 'forte' passages louder and with more emphasis. What I most admire is your ability to play right through the 3 movements with just a brief pause between each..you keep going which is something i wish I was able to do!! Good luck with your future development. Best Wishes
Hi Conor! Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoyed my performance of the Kuhlau Sonatina. It's wonderful to know that you're also learning this piece as an adult returning to the piano. I truly appreciate your feedback about my timing and confidence in playing the notes. Your suggestion to be more daring with dynamics is valuable, and I'll definitely work on adding more emphasis to those 'forte' passages. I'm glad you noticed the continuity between the movements - it's something I've practiced to achieve. It's all about finding that flow and maintaining the momentum. Thank you again for your encouragement and well wishes for my future development. It means a lot to me. Best of luck with your own piano journey. Feel free to keep in touch and share your progress. Warmest regards!
Great work! No matter how hard it is, try your best! I am an intermediate piano player and this piece was almost hard to learn but I mastered it. I know you will be happy after your success. :)
