Lol in Australia we have a saying "if you can't tie knots, ya tie lots" and this suggests to me you either got a rope fettish or missed the week boys scouts rock climbing badge was on. 😂 Silicone and paper mache will strengthen against shear load also
Kind of ridiculous that simplicity does say anything about hydro servicing. I’ve got a conquest with a k66 and there is nothing in the manual. People who generally pay 6k and up for a mower use it a lot, so not serving the hydro would be a bad idea. Shouldn’t have to call tuff torq to figure the service out. You can’t even call simplicity or BandS as there is no number. What a joke! Someone spends 10k on a prestige and the hydro blows after 500hrs because they never serviced the hydro because they didn’t know they were supposed too…
A number of years ago you made a video of you tilling with a farmall 300. Were you tilling in 1st gear with the torque amplifier or straight 1st gear? Thanks.
With the farmall 300 I usually til in 1st with the torque amplifier on. I figure slowest is better to chew up the soil. Power wise the 300 tills in 1st just fine.
@@guystuff7942 I've been thinking about buying a 450 and a lot of times the torque amplifier is out. Was just wondering if maybe you were tilling in straight first gear, but figured as fast as first gear is on those tractors you were probably using the TA. Good to know that you can actually use a tiller if the TA low is working. Thanks.
I have the identical machine I just purchased. I was thinking about buying the grouser tracks also. I was told I need wheel spacer too. Do you think grounders tracks are to heavy for the machine? Should I look for a different brand to buy. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks
The grouser tracks are awesome...not too heavy for the machine. Make sure your tires are the exact same size to avoid the issues I had. Grousers are HEAVY....hard to get on/off with 1 guy. I've been super happy with these chain tractiontracks for my use. This is a great machine...tons of power and has been reliable for me at almost 3k hours.
It struggles backing up with the bucket all the way down because material is building up. Most of the time just lift your bucket a little with some material in if possible for weight. Also need to push more sand so it’s not so steep.
I'm curious about the platform. Did you build it? what is the gauge of the wire grid? It appears to be bent down at the edge. Did you do that? Could you let me know what you used as a framing material? It's hard to see in the vid. Nice job.
I purchased the platform as a ceiling storage system that hangs from the ceiling. I didn't like climbing a ladder to get stuff, so I converted to this. If you search for overhead garage storage you'll see a bunch of options. Looks like they are between $100 and $200
You should fill the transmission from the top by removing the black plug behind the seat pan. That's why that plug is there. There is also a plug at the front of the seat as well.
*Clearing Land and Digging Stumps with Skid Steer showcases the impressive capabilities of skid steer equipment in removing obstacles and debris from land. The use of this heavy-duty machinery is an efficient and effective way of clearing land and removing stumps, and the video provides a fascinating look at the process in action. The skid steer is able to quickly and easily move heavy objects and debris, making land clearing a much simpler and faster process. The video serves as a testament to the power and versatility of skid steer equipment in the field of land clearing and excavation.*
90% of the time I plow snow in 4th gear, that extra momentum does the trick....BTW I have nearly the same tractor (300) with a narrow front and big loop chains in a X pattern
Hard to say. It is just a few hundred pounds of weight on a 7k lb machine. I've never operated it without them. I can say they are handy steps when working over top of the engine.
Just a suggestion for reducing the pipe size, a 2" to 3/4" female reducer bushing would have been a simple solution. Use a short 3/4" nipple to slide over the hex shaft, the ID is tight as you need it to be. Tack weld the bushings and nipples so they don't unscrew. Tap a couple setscrews thru the nipple to grab the hex shaft. Nice try overall, be careful out there.
Good idea. The first one I made I used 1" pipe and it worked well with the 400lb harbor freight hoist. With the 2 inch pipe the 400lb hoist didn't have the power as I loaded up shelf. I ended up upgrading the hoist to the 1200lb and it works fine. I could have reduced the pipe size as you said and save $.
Jim has figured out that bald ass tires and those cheep ebay chain tracks don't give you any traction , Good tires and a set of Grouser tracks would have been a world of difference and a lot shorter video .
I love the tractiontracks on there now. I replaced my grouser tracks with these cause the grousers weigh 500lbs and weren't manageable for 1 guy. Took some time to build the courage to commit to pushing the pile over!
