I was raised in the Old Rowan. The area not the pub. Actually, I did spend an inordinate amount of time on the pub step with a bottle of lemonade and a packet of crisps. And later, within the venerable hostelry. Not all the places are known to me. Makes me feel the time before ubiquitous cars, separated communities. We're I to return from overseas I think I might hire an electric bike to check out all of these places.

1:03 the house on the left in Benedict St was my mums house, she was buried in the rubble for 10 hours but survived and never spoke about it, 8 of her neighbours died including a baby that night...

Neil Buchanan born there in 1961. What a lovely place...I don't know why I always feel a very strong connection to things related to the UK.

My mum worked in Schweppes . I was in the 14th Aintree boy scouts. You can just make our scout hut past the factory.

you've spelt Wyresdale Road wrong. I grew up there, my mum and dad still there at no 7 just out of sight on the right. Great shot though.

@@nzbeachman3966 Hello, Read your memories with interest. I am not from Aintree but know a little about it .My late dad was a National Hunt racing fan and I started going racing with him in 1970 , Up until 1990.We generally stayed in Southport for the Grand National meeting and got to know the surrounding areas like Walton Magull and Ormskirk. Also I have been interested in the Leeds to Liverpool canal net work. Kind regards Glynn n greetings from Stourbridge West Midlands 🕊🕊🕊

WOW! I grew up in Walton and I still live local to the area now, I lived on Queens Drive, by Atheldene Rd, I remember them finding an unexploded bomb on the corner of Stanley Pk Ave and we all had to be evacuated.
