Thanks for looking at this channel which I am dedicating to sharing my passion for all things lure fishing and in particular the ultralight and LRF UK scene.
Follow me as I fish my home waters as well as travel around to visit some awesome venues and target a whole range of different species on lures.
Each year the count resets and I want to beat the previous total. 2020 was abysmal for me so 2021 is already well ahead but it means that in 2022 it will take some beating!
Focus mainly on #Lure and LRF or ultralight fishing in the UK but we also have a dabble at fly-fishing and hrf style lure fishing. Please give us a follow and any feedback is welcome!
Also keen to work with others on our journey, please reach out through any of the links in out link tree: linktr.ee/howtotrickafish #LRF #LightRockFishing #LRFUK #bass #pollock #perch #pike #trout #chub #ukfishing #lurefishing #flyfishing
Lee cheers for the video I just wondered if Wetherby talking and demonstrating knots maybe do them over a f Dark back ground? I've fished for years so no major issues following it but if I was new I wouldn't of been able to understand what you were showing
@@Howtotrickafish Nice. I love it and there's some groups for it online, but very rare to see on RU-vid. Or perhaps I just haven't found those channels yet.
Fantastic. There's some really good local LRF anglers to you in Gosport. Nathan Patrick finished in the top 5 in this year's winter league and its his local. My son is currently based at HMS Sultan too and he is a half decent junior angler. Grab some maruky some. Worms or gulp snadworms online and checkout some of my videos on rigging or begginers LRF on how to get him started. Welcome to oing me any questions at all
I've done one before I think. But I'll go again as it changes every session haha. I'll just do a run through of everything I take for one session. If you checkout episode 2 of my bass series it'll be quite different to what I'm using now!
Great informative video. What size are thos tanago hooks in conventional UK sizes? The smallest I currently use is 18 and in windering how much smaller i need to go.
@@tommoore.8947 a size 26 will be fine for the 2 spots. But I'd honestly just buy them for how little you will use them. Only really need tanago for a handful of species
Another book I really find useful is " Europe and Mediterranean Marine Fish Identification Guide" by Patrick Louisy. Its not the cheapest but it covers nearly everything that swims or has thought about swimming around here. Has photos and range maps, plus a lot more.
Just stumbled upon your channel and first of all big thanks for putting out all the great lrf content! Now my question: I would love to get such a miniature aquarium for marvelling at my own lrf/xul catches...what is the term to search for? Somehow I just can't find such device 😅
@@Howtotrickafish , wel afther a few emails back and forward i get no good feedback of them , they give no warrenty , so what can i do exept warn people abouth the bad quality and no warrenty of this brand
Thanks for the heads up. Still a little nervous in front of camera so gradually settling into it. Whats crazy is how much my fishing changes and what I take with me as I could redo this video every few months.
I grew up in Brixham and fished the breakwater and the quarry hundreds of times, great video well done. Have you tried fishing with light float gear from the first spot down those steps, it used to produce good results back in the day?
Hiya Andy. Thanks for the watch and taking time to comment. I haven't bait fished in about a decade in afraid so the answer would be no. But is see plenty guys down there bagging up still
I've been using the whole worm and they get smashed and hook up almost every time even if they miss the first bite they usually come back 2 or 3 times. Have use them several times now and caught bass, Pollock, herring, scad, poor cod and pouting on them all fished in jigheads. Great lure
Love it 👍...loads of thanks 👍 excellent video ❗I have been using these poles/rods for micro fishing here in the USA and i dig all the fun and tackle...So Hello,Cheers and Salutations from across the waters ❗👍...peace and love bro
Great video again chaps! I’ll be purchasing Hooked on lure tonight! Only thing I would add, as someone who only started LRF a year ago next month, is to engage with social media groups, blogs etc as much as possible. Show enthusiasm, ask questions and most importantly listen to the advice you’re given. I have messaged a lot of the more established anglers mentioned in this video and asked advice, I think it’s appreciated and if you engage and show a willingness to learn you’ll get it back ten fold!!!
Caught my fist bass on a Drift Shoal Shad earlier this year. I have the 15g white with red heads and always make sure I have some in the box before I go out.
