Love it- I’m in mega catch up with music theory, but now I’m playing lots of backup using inversion to more general tunes and songs - this is exactly what I e been looking for to keep the same repeating session tunes a bit more interesting by adding variation. Thanks for sharing Tony - uk

I was with you the first five minutes or so but then the music theory terms started coming hot and heavy and you lost me entirely. Over my head.

hallo, why you play E chord instead of E7 ? E7 sounds way more bluesier all you have to do is remove your ring finger off D string

Mike bro! You have the finest website for banjo restring work! Better than Deering and others because you have great camera angles, whereas other instructors move to quickly with poor camera angles- they do not take into account that some viewers may not know as much as they, said instructors move to quickly in their videos. I was hoping you were still online as the only string I have had problems restring is the one that goes halfway up the neck. Thanks for your informative video.

Are you able to tune to an A without the spikes? As a newbie I’m afraid to break my strings since I don’t know how to put strings on.
@MikeHeddingMusic
@MikeHeddingMusic 2 месяца назад
You should be able to but be careful tuning it up. But I'd recommend looking at getting a 5th string capo or just playing the song without a capo and just play it in G.

I've been playing the mandolin for a year an a bit now, only recently getting into the proper picking. An I can happily say I'm at the slide and harmonics stage, but that bluegrass stage is gonna take some work!

Is Melodic banjo the same as Chord Melody banjo?
@MikeHeddingMusic
@MikeHeddingMusic 2 месяца назад
No, quite different. Melodic banjo is a style that allows you to play note-for-note melodies which is different than Scruggs style which normally approximates the melody. Chord melody is a style where you play the melody while playing 2-4 note chords at the same time. Basically playing the melody and harmony together. - Mike

@@MikeHeddingMusicThis is exactly how I would like to play the banjo. Would this be considered Melodic style? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3EUndP_h0i0.html

Amazing how much knowledge you packed into a simple tune like this. I find myself dipping into your catalogue more and more as I progress on my banjo journey. I've introduced your material to my banjo instructor, and he likes it so much he is mentioning you to his other students. Thank you for all the work you put into this content.

I'd recommend getting banjo strings as they will be the correct gauge. Guitar strings are going to be quite a bit thicker.
