My first failure was a with 1715 .38 bar (small prop). 2nd was a big prop thinking rpm was the killer. No biggie, gotta pay to play 😅. I still absolutely loved the power they have and always 115⁰f. Try the 2260 motor and see if it makes it past 6 runs. Definitely can be operator error no doubt. Trying a Lehner next
Ok, quite a short race. Are they limited in size, voltage, esc's? And are these rules everywhere the same, also in europe? I mean i run 8s/6500 less then 4 min and not flat out all the time but with speeds off 80+. With 10000 and smaller prop i guess it would be possible to run 2min. Like the idea it might be possible to run a competition and/or try to find a tune to do that. It would make it more versatile. Playing with it 6-8s with some speedruns, and maybe the ability race with it...

the Lucas Oil runs in P-Limited Cat. i uploaded the vid yesterday. he was in 2nd place chasing me for almost the whole race. i think he crashed out on the last lap
@@alexrex20 I saw that I rewatched the video a few times. Nice to have this video and now I know who some of the people are and why boats they’re running. I think one of them is an Aussie hydro the funny looking white one and I saw Wayne’s hydro is a pt stealth sport and he’s got a mean machine too! Assuming it’s got a lesser motor than the 2240. I could never make them out before even on an 85 inch tv. Thanks!
Lots of good info about motors en esc's... Not i intent to race, but good info is always interesting. Personally i'm more interested in details, like preparing props, sanding bottom, ideal placement rudder (if there is one), etc. The tips and tricks from a pro. I noticed these are the things that made me go fast. Its not like, take a big motor and you will be fast, there's a lot more to it.

@@alexrex20 here its about 83 to 86 tomorrow (Netherlands), so a good day for boating, then it becomes cooler again. Tomorrow going to a big pond to test my setup. Unfortunately one off my best lipo's has a damaged cell, so have to take it bit easier. The other lipo's don't like this setup (x8s, 4092/1650kv/46-3blade). But want to see how it handles or if i have to do minor adjustments for when i have a new lipo.
Hey I haven’t found the FE cowl yet (I did look though) however I did pickup a brand new mean machine FE hull that I’ll be building once it arrives. Need to get a motor for it but not sure I’d feel comfortable running the 2650. Have you ran any other motors in it?
My last Mean Machine also ran on a 3674 size 2650kv. If you're ok 4S I would be comfortable in the 2200-2400kv range. Are you heat racing it? If you're only sport boating and not limited to 4S, then I'd consider something lower kv and hugher voltage like 5S or 6S. If you want to stick with 4S I have a watercooled Castle 1415 2400kv that would be excellent in a Mean Machine. It's what I used to run in my twin Cheetah.
@@alexrex20 I’m gonna set it up to race even though it’ll only be local club racing. I’d still do it under p limited rules. What water jacket did you use on the 1415? I’ve got a 2400kv 1415 in my box.
@@alexrex20 oh good to know about the water jacket. I’ve got one of those I can try and slip on it. Thanks for the info. I’m familiar with Namba rules as I used to be really into racing. Used to have to run a bj26 motor and later ul-1 back in the day with ul-1 speed controllers. I’ll probably pickup a tenshock just scared of the 2650! Your boats with that are as fast as my old p hydro fe30 from back in the day! It was right at 74mph too.
That’s some hot water. Water here is 81 right now. You put the stock nitro cowl back on? I have the FE cowl for the mean machine somewhere in storage. Picked up a 2nd motley crew to setup with a Tenshock motor but tempted to put it in a cheetah.
If I can find it I’ll send it to you. My storage is huge though gotta find some time to look through it soon. It’s all rc boats planes and cars/trucks and aquarium shit.
I like the videos where the boats are shown coming in. Nice to see them up close. Wish I was out there in Texas. Well maybe not now when it’s probably 90 degrees!
i keep forgetting to do a pit walk video. i'll try to do one next race to show all the boats. i'm more than happy to show hardware and under the hatch of my boats, and maybe other racers will allow it also
Have you ever got one of these motors wet? I had the cooling nipple pop off, flood the boat & and the motor got wet. I oiled the bearings and kept a fan on my boat for 5 days. Next trip out it seemed under powered. 2100kv 3890can
Thanks for sharing. Tell me more about your esc wiring. I noticed you’re running extra cap packs. I have an X8s but I’m seeing too much Ripple than I’d like. Almost double from compared to my xlxs2.
it can never hurt to add a cap pack to an ESC but i've never needed to add one on an X8S. but i only run 4S on my X8S ESCs. i normally see around 1.0-1.2V of ripple on the X8S. on the MMX6S and Cobra8, they do need an external cap pack in my opinion.

Any chance you have an extra water block that you would be willing to sell. I have a brand new Monster X 6s, the 1st esc you talked about. Do you happen to know what ESC equivalent is in the Traxxas boats?
Oh nice, my last p limited was also a mean machine but with ul-1 motor and esc. What was that 13-15 years ago or something lol. That tenshock motor looks fast. I have a couple of the old ones.
