obcessed with andy's bass tone on this and on previous albuns. would really love to know who the bass player is and how he's able to emulate it so well very suby yet with a lot of mid/high end character, stumpy, just like a hofner or something with small humbuckers
@@borgesguerardi yeah the other commenter pointed out it's a burns of london. I think it's a mixture of a bit of compression, a bit of tube saturation or grit, and the middle/neck pickup. the bass and drums are also so locked, as they are on the records, so a lot of the fluffy punch from the kick drum adds to the sound with the mix of whole band. really cool sound.
Oh, i wish they had played the entire album with this configuration of players, sound mix, smiles, such a cool vibe, made me appreciate this songs very much. Andy Shauf is for real.
Yeah i knooow, life has been quite busy/stressful i haven't found time out-with my streaming and work, and yes i'll be at his glasgow show in may, can't wait! gutted there isn't an edinburgh show this time around

Been to two concerts of his. First concert, mumbled something at my hands about his music being great. Second concert, I actually got to talking to him for like twenty minutes. Everyone walked out of the concert happy but I was like IT'S ANDY FUCKING SHAUF!!!!! XD I would kill to have been in this diner or any of his previous stuff, there's a very enchanting layer of sound to it. Maybe it's just my melancholy!
The second song when the rest of the band comes in.. when the song starts and Andy starts to vibe my thoughts turn to what the feelings must be to have a group of people kicking in and playing and totally vibing to your own personal creation. Music is his life and his intelligence and artistry is so evident.

It’s the only version with Andy singing “If you didn’t notice ME then,/ You won’t remember ME now”! There’s so much pain in that “ME”!💔 Breaks your heart! Don’t know why he replaced the “me” with “it”. I really hate that awful person “Judy”!
