How do cars work? Its a simple question without a simple answer. That's what this channel is for. You could google it endlessly for consumable information or you can watch my simple videos. I'm Mechanical engineer with a passion for cars, and my goal is to help other people passionate about cars. Hope you find my videos enjoyable.
I really hate that the air conditioner and the engine are linked. I wish cars had it made so that you can turn on the ac compressor without starting the engine. I live in Texas, and it's really inconvenient that I have to waste fuel to cool off in the car.
Okay so if the AC is still blowing, theres still coolant, no clicking noise, everything normal but no cold air is coming out (1997 Lincoln Town car) what part(s) malfunctioned and needs servicing/replacing?
If the air is blowing warm when the AC is on that means that the evaporator for one reason or another is not receiving cold coolant. If there are impurities in the system a blockage could exist somewhere in the system, or if the compressor grenaded itself. If you’re not hearing the clutch click when engaging the AC then the clutch is not engaging on the compressor and the compressor itself is not operating. If this is the issue then it could be an issue with the compressor itself or an electrical issue.
Is the a/c clutch suppose to stay engaged all the time when the a/c is on and the car is working on park gear on idle in a properly working A/C system or is it suppose to cycle on/off (Altima 2010)? Thx
Hi!!! May I ask if putting two condensers with the high-speed fan on each condenser will make the AC Colder? I'm living in a tropical country so colder AC is better... Thank you!
the purpose of condenser is to lower the temperature of refrigerant so that it become liquid.. in liquid state it can be spray at expansion valve.. the answer is yes.. it could make your ac cooler.. but at some extent.. the efficiency of ac depend on many factor.. mainly cause of the efficiency of heat exchanger at condenser and evaporator, evaporator usually has thick layer of dust bcause it evaporate and trap water.. so dust stick to it.. so we have to clean it.. and change cabin filter.. it will obstruct air flow
A TXV is essentially a meter. It controls the amount of refrigerant that is released to your air conditioner’s evaporator by dropping the pressure between the liquid in the line and the evaporator.
