Avatar Meher Baba and a group of His Lovers saw the first half of this play at the Imperial Theater on the evening of July 21, 1956. AMBKJ! Thank you so much for posting this clip!
Watch McCoy from 2:18 on, he is NOT doing what he appears to be. He is not smirking at Aces reaction to the beacon, he has just won one match in a very important battle & cant keep his delight to himself. He is in control of the entire situation & manipulating Ace without her (or the audience) realizing. That is what makes The 7th Doctor the most ruthless & dangerous of all the characters incarnations.
I adored Lalla as Romana. But it would be most interesting to see who could play a regenerated Romana at some point (and hopefully soon) in the current series.
Watching 85-year old Peter Purves and his poor two team-mates doing a DISASTROUS Escape Room, and they just triggered a *surprise* Karaoke *bonus-round* …. Oh…… The *HUMANITY* - the *only* Musical *known* to Mankind that can actually cause *Barrowman* to *CRINGE* ….!!! [..he still remembers ALL The Words - ]
It's rather funny how the Doctor found time, after having been sent an urgent message from the Brigadier while on the Nerva Becon has found time to make a quick detour (Sarah and Harry most likely remained inside the TARDIS for some unknown reason...) to the 1970s (or maybe the 1980s) in order to visit a cinema to watch some cartoons (one of them being entitled 'Clock Cleaners' which is somewhat apt) and a few film previews until UNIT (maybe with a little help from Torchwood?) to find out what he was doing and to hurry up and get to 1970s (or maybe the 1980s, in any case it wouldn't be any time before 1979) Scotland.😂 That said as it turned out the emergency was ultimately all over oil, which we really needed (and still do) to stop being overly dependent on...😢 Happy Times and Places🎉
Hello New Who fans, welcome to the Classic Series. The sets might be wobbly at times but the scripts gave us the foundation for everything, so sit back and enjoy.
Sarah was a highly intelligent person but this scene made her out to be a bit thick. It should have been obvious to her that the reason her 1980 existed was because Sutekh was stopped in 1911 and the only person remotely capable of doing so in that time period was the Doctor.
The irony is they could not see how important as an historical record of BBC broadcasting these episodes would become. The saddest thing of all is the BBC no longer produces any quality programmes, all it has is an agenda which it is forcing on the population and to which most are turning off ……. It provides no public service just a constant ego trip ……
It looks like from the preview of Empire of Death that this alternative time actually happens only 44 years later after 1980 in 2024. The Doctor only delayed the inevitable.
Like this comment if you're here after the big Sutekh reveal in LORS, and now realizing that RTD dropped the BIGGEST callback during "The Devil's Chord".
Love Dr Who. Peter Davidson (IMHO) was an awesome Dr due to the huge energy he brought to the role. He and his son-in-law, David Tennant, are my favorites with Sylvester McCoy in second place. I started watch the series way back when during John Pertwee’s reign as The Doctor.
Interestingly, this is part of Pertwee's acting method. He said that if you ever do what you feel is a bad take, make sure you swear at the end and they'll have no choice but to reshoot it.
