IT'S THE ONLY SONG ON ANIMALS THAT I HATE, IT DOESN'T EVEN FIT THE NARRATIVE AND ANIMALS IS STILL MY FAVORITE FLOYD ALBUM! BTW...IT WAS NOT "A BEAUTIFUL LOVE SONG"! "JULIA DREAM" FROM "RELICS" IS A BEAUTIFUL LOVE SONG...KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!
Gilmour was always so patiently and genuinely inquisitive as well as kindly provocative towards myself and my broken world that I just wanted to say that I appreciate David and the band for giving a damn about others in the world through their music and their words and speaking the truth. I was 16 when this album came out, I bought it immediately, for some reason it scared the fuck out of me. I still listen to it, for some reason now It comforts me.

I suffer from heavy paranoia. People are gonna hurt me, betray me, destroy me. It's constantly playing in my head. All the damn time. But there are a few people who make me feel safe. This song... Makes me think of all of them.
I stopped speak with my father a long time ago. Going from “If you didn’t care” from when I hated him, to “I know that you care” to now, where I miss him the most…this song makes a good bit of sense.
I love this verse..we would zig zag our way through the boredom and pain... occasionally glancing up through the rain....brings tears to my eyes...just wishing things were the way they used to be.. badly
Always loved how Animals begins and ends on such a calm, lighthearted note. It provides a perfect contrast and counter balance to the more darker and cynical nature of the album's 3 main tracks. Truly masterful record.
I've listened to Floyd all my life and heard this album when it came out, and NEVER have I heard this version with the lead between part one and part two. Fucking my life just got so much better.
