What should be knonw about this song is that it was written by the Great Chicage songwriter MichaeL Peter Smith who also wrote The Dutchman and hundreds of other amazing songs.
La tengo en un cassette mezclado por mi papá en el Christine Cancún en una fiesta de los 70's y 80's en 1995 Dj Tony Tapia. Viene mezclada con Get Off the Foxy y Symphony Of love de Miquel Brown
So loved this group! And this was my favorite song. I remember being a teenager & lying on the floor in front of the stereo listening to it. What an amazing voice Elaine has! And this song shows every bit of it! The beautifully pure, soft notes, along with the power & emotion. Gives me goose bumps every time.
What an awesome performance! Beautiful arrangement and amazing vocals from Spanky. If you haven't done so, check out the Wikipedia article about the origins of this song. It's an amazing story, and the song tells it so well.
Lovely musician. Artist. SHOWMAN. Just amazing ❤️🙏🏼 So tragic he left this world too soon. R. I. P. Mr Darin. Heaven has so many angelvoices up there. To me that is a truly comforting feeling ❤️🙏🏼 One of the greatest songs ever!
When Cats on the Coast came out (I think it was 77?) I was absolutely blown away! I can’t tell you how many times I played that album from front to back completely. That’s your secret, it hurts when you want it so bad, every little thing and song for Amy still stand out in my mind as such fantastic tunes. I’m not sure what happened to them, I know they didn’t last long but they were an incredibly underrated band.
Elaine's vocal here remains in a class by itself after 54 years. This studio version is not from the pictured lp ( "Anything You Choose b/w Without Rhyme Or Reason ", 1969). It's from 1967's "Spanky And Our Gang " lp. A beautiful 1967 live take can be found on "Spanky and Our Gang Live", which was released after the group disbanded in 1970. It's 2021, and tens of millions of people could be this song's narrator. "Hey, don't you remember..." Thanks for the post, MrZ. Peace
