Cool stuff! After years of being out of photo/video production I got back into it for my teaching and research and have my own production gear and set up etc. It will be interesting to see where this goes and I will look into it more. Thanks for posting!

I lived in LA for a decade and experienced many minor quakes, and all ours are short and minor compared to these big subduction quakes. My experience is they're over too quickly to be afraid, and not violent enough to traumatize you (I mean the common ones, Northridge was horrific but still well below even a 7, these are hundreds+ times as energetic....? Ok, yes, that is indeed totally terrifying. Does it mean I'm not gonna go out there at least yearly? Nope.
Does anyone know if the strikingly linear cutoff of data points around the Canada/Alaska border is because of the institutions and nationality of the presenter or is there just a strikingly linear fault there? What is the origin of the quakes there, intra-plate faulting/blocking, is it rifting, mantle plume (doesn't seem likely but...). I can't find a map showing faults within Akaska, Yukon, BC, well one simple enough for an interested amateur to understand.
As a Genetic Primary Psychopath I find it interesting when the audience laughs when he mentions Psychopaths. I have no concept of 28/271 emotions therefore I do not get the warning feeling that they provide such as Fear Guilt Shame Grief Remorse. On the of side certain other emotions are amplified to extremely intense levels. Just understand that there's a reason why Psychopathy is split into 2 different classes that are similar yet quite different.

We are a small country with beautiful countryside where many foreign visitors come every year for hiking as well as locals. And also here we fight with diseases that transmit ticks like Lyme disease and encephalitis. So fingers crossed the nehc project works and is available soon.
