I had wanted to try this , but changed my mind. I watched many u tube videos of cats slipping and falling from the toilet seat, one landed on his belly on the seat. Cats can fall head first into the toilet (cats face wet), and fall onto the floor. Videos listed below. They are given a slippery narrow slanted surface to perform a dangerous balancing act. I also watched a video of a lady toilet training her cat and his front paws lifted off the seat - he almost fell backwards into the toilet. Cats have been injured. Many Amazon reviews of training products said the cats would hold their pee and poop in. This resulted in urinary tract/ kidney infections and bloody stool. Many found out their bed, carpet, sofa, clothes, etc. had been urinated on. In the u tube video of training, the lady did show at the beginning a litter box still on the floor. One cat owner discovered the cat began pooping on the floor because the cat was slipping while pooping when on the toilet seat. Cats get highly stressed if you remove their box - it is a territorial marker. Their instinct to dig, squat, and cover is denied. NEVER!! remove the box for any reason. I have a cat that I introduced corn litter to. He appeared to not like it, but I could see he was using the box. Later the bed also had urine in it. People have stated their cat used the toilet for 1 and 2 years without problems, then after have problems. When you gotta go you gotta go- what if someone else is using the toilet when they need it. When cats discover the carpet causes no fear of falling and is easier to pee on they will continue to use it. I am not a fan of litter as they can cause health issues. Possibly if there was a large nonslip stable surface for the cat to stand on that might work, but always keep a litter box available. Using these products would violate the trust my cat has in me to protect him! Many reviews of the CitiKitty brand have said the weight of the cat breaks the plastic rings and the cats fall.
