Automotive Grace is all about celebrating life with classic cars. Host, Andrew, is a huge automotive fan and documents his experiences with classic cars, including restoration, events and some random travel. Come along for the ride.
Many thanks. The car was very well restored and previous to that spent it's entire life in the Gauteng province in South Africa. Gauteng is in central SA, at 1750m elevation and the air is extremely dry. Now if I can only get the DVLA to register it for UK road use :-(
Thanks for saving the original radiator tanks & brackets! That's what I would do regardless of the cost. Don't like mounting the trans coolers on the radiator, though.
I'm in Canada where the our cars were made! I've been looking for that tail light chrome for 5years ! Can I buy that piece from you please please please!
Hi PL. Fellow Canadians always welcome to the channel. As my '58 is a keeper, I'm reluctant to forego any of the external spare trim for which I don't have duplicates. I don't have a duplicate set of spare rear tail light bezels. However, I see from a quick look online that these are still available as they are shared amongst the Bonneville, Chieftan, Catalina, Safari, Strato Chief, Star Chief and Super Chief. I hope you are able to secure one.
@@automotivegrace "Reluctance can be a variable state. Sometimes it is subject to influences like friendly persuasions or say financial motivators. Can you give this some thought? Very best , Patrick 😉 🇨🇦🤝🇬🇧
Hi William. Many thanks. I love it. I would not normally drag my finger over the dusty surface, but needed to to show the dust on camera. Going forward, I'll avoid doing that. Thanks for watching.
Yes, indeed. All South Africans tick that box. It must be a cultural thing. It's said to reduce rearend damage in light dings. Maybe I need a 1950's racecar to tow around in matching colours?
Thanks Tush. It's rare to see see such a beast here in UK, especially in RHD. I'll keep an eye on your channel (@cheftush) for news on your new arrival.
I love it! I think you need to keep it standard and not modified…same paint scheme/interior as well. Looking forward to following the progress…it will be hard to sell after all your hard work…we will see how that goes 😉
Hi Ron. Welcome to the channel. The MH Classic car Show is a great community event. I'll be attending again this year on 7th July with Daisy. Hope to see you there. Regards, Andrew.
Hello I'm viewing from New Zealand. My father had a Volkswagen Kombi camper van like yours in the 1960s. We were a large family of six children , so we needed a large vechile to transport us around. The Alfa Romeo Montreal was the highlight of the show for me there. Very rare car nowadays. Thanks from Carl.
Hi Carl. Thanks for sharing great memories from NZ. Six children in a camper. Your dad is a brave man. I'm always drawn to the Montreal. It shares rear taillights with my 1974 Bitter CD. Not sure I'm brave enough to ever own one. A stunning vehicle.
Andrew, thanks for this video. Really interesting facts about the differences between the MG-B and the true MG-C then again, the difference between a genuine MG-C with front tortion beam suspension and those "C" wannabes with the six cylinder simply shoe horned in. Dad's old home is really lovely, and someone who appreciates the layout will be snaped up in no time.
Can you get in for free to just look at the classic cars parking at get Pictures of the Classic Cars at Goodwood Revival or do i have to get a ticket ?
Hi Alexander. Yes. It is my understanding that you can park in the Public car parks without presenting a ticket or pass. From there, walk across to the pre-66 and tax exempt car parks. Tickets are only checked when entering the "Over the road" area. The pre-66 and tax exempt car parks require a free parking pass obtained only when booking a ticket.
Great opening video, Andrew. Fantastic camera system 👏 and hesitate to inform you that the lovely colour, TR7..my motor wheelchair is termed "Grasshopper green" but will take the TR7. First time seeing a Solstice.
Hello Andrew 👋 Great initiative 👏 and love this particular soundtrack. Dreamy...mind sharing the title? OK, oh my soul, a pretty Connie and a Vought Coarsair F4-U😮 You are correct, there is so much to see, it will take days. The space stuff is also attention grabbing.
Glad you enjoyed it. The music is The last ones by Jahzzar. Due to copyright requirements, I always include attribution for the music I use in the description of each video.
Really enjoyed this video, Andrew. 👌Aviation...& flying is a great passion of mine. All aircraft are fascinating from hang gliders, to sailplanes, WWII aircraft, to the amazing SR-71. How fantastic to see a TSR-2 in the flesh.😮...the Concord is indeed a beautiful machine. Can talk for hours.
Hello Andrew and Ronnie. Graeme from SA. Enjoyed the museum. I found the Coventry Climax engine, very interesting. Known as the Feather weight. 77Kg, able to operate at almost full throttle from a cold start. Small V8's are awesome.
Hi FireBirdC9. Thanks for watching my video. I'm very sorry to have missed your 56 Plymouth. They are beautiful cars. If everything goes according to plan, I hope to be there on Sat or Sun this year in my newly imported, factory RHD, 1958 Pontiac Strato Chief. I'll keep an eye open for your Plymouth.
I’m literally doing the same thing at the moment…trying to get my garage set up and a little more organized for some spring thrashing…mines taken quite a bit of abuse through the last 4 restorations…now starting back on the 5th ( the 59 TR3A). The Canadian Tire Money was a good find..perhaps you should frame that 😉 I’m filming my garage organization as well just to have a before and after record of if…I’m sure it will take me a few weeks to complete it so it’s more of a longer term project. I’m looking forward to your project reveal! Cheers, Tush
Great hearing from you Tush. Good luck with your garage organising. I, sadly, cannot blame past restorations for the state of mine :-) It took me 3 weeks, on and off to do, but very satisfying now that it is done. Best wishes, Andrew
It was indeed beautiful. We went in early Nov as part of a group adventure holiday. They had just experienced a "long" Winter. If I was to advise others, I may suggest going a little later than Nov in case there is another long Winter. Thanks for watching.
congrats on your trip to Argentina.. I was fortunate to be there earlier this month.. unforgettable. congrats on your video. Check out a few short videos we made about this beautiful place.
Nice video, my yellow Westfield was at around 4:30 👍 Funny you said hello to Jerry, I know him from the car meet in Harborough third Sunday of every month.
@@automotivegrace Hi, will check out your other videos and will be subscribing 👍 Selling the Westfield next year and looking for something else. Hopefully meet up at the Harborough gathering one Sunday. Cheers.
Yes .The SR 71 .Blackbird. I was Gobsmacked by it .The closest I'll ever get to a " Space Craft " My then Wife went for a picnic and Left me drooling over it and Talking to a Bloke about it .For an hour .It was only the immediate threat of violence from her that got me to move Reluctantly. what a plane .I'd just gone on a whim didn't Read anything before hand .So you can imagine my surprise and delight in finding they had one on display.
Hi Max. It looks like something that would not be out of place in a Star Wars movie, but it's real. There is a great story behind it, especially the titanium used to build it and how this was sourced. Fantastic cloak and dagger stuff.
