This channel is about mountaineering in general, my own mountaineering tours, and the corresponding outdoor equipment. It is related to my Mountains for Everybody site mountainsforeverybody.com/
Thanks for the review... I'm kind of not sure, but I think I'll go for the Aircontact Core... I am tempted by the suspension system of the Futura, but being a big dude travelling with a small girl, I may end up carrying a lot of weight so...
Very true. I made mistake by concluding initially that these were waterproof. In fact, they were sucking water in slowly and I could not feel it in my initial testing even after keeping them in water for several minutes.
Thank you. I was just presenting the facts about this tent, which is the second I have from the same brand. There is addition, did not have time to write about it in the site, I used it in the mountains recently, and I was not disappointed.
This tent is for camping with a car. Building up the tent is easy and straight forward. The tent has enough air circulation because the zipper of the doors of the inner tent can open from top and bottom. The horizontal zipper of the door is a seperate zipper then the other zipper of the door of the inner tent. So each door has two zippers. The top half of the inner tent is almost completely mesh. so if you open both doors of the outher tent there will be enough air flow trough the tent. This tent will be suited for a warmer climate. If you camp on higher altitude and more rain or moist expected I recommed the MSR Habitude 4. I inspected both tents and both tents are great for the space and suited for camping with a car. The MSR has also strong points (lighter, msr quality, bigger hight) but I choose this Big Agnes Spicer 4.
Hi, I fill the coffee container which is inside of the pot, it is above the water reservoir, so I never measure. Normally I fill the water reservoir till the valve which is on the side, and this then determines the maximum amount of coffee you can have. I have never checked the weight or volume in mililiters, and I use it every day twice. If the coffee is too strong, you can add water into it later when it is in the cup, or milk, this is all up to you. I do not use any milk or sugar, just a black coffee. Otherwise, you can put less amount of coffee powder in the container. Just experiment and you will find out what the best amount is for you.
Thank you for asking, this is my Forclaz pillow. Here you can see all about it: mountainsforeverybody.com/forclaz-mt500-inflatable-backpacking-travel-pillow-review
I've been undecided between this Camp Plus SI vs the Comfort plus SI. Do you happen to know the difference on both? Price are double on the comfort plus but not sure what the advantage is, they both look the same to my eye
Hi, the main difference is the fabric, you have 30D stretch knit polyester on the upper of the Comfort Plus pad combined with 30D woven polyester on the bottom. But in the Camp Plus it is a 70D woven polyester everywhere. This would mean that the former may feel softer and more pleasant, but I would say that it is also far less durable. The Comfort Plus is a bit heavier as well due to the fabric difference. The R value is 4.1 in the former as compared to 4.3 in the Camp Plus, but this is not so important.
Well done job, I did read your relation on your website since I was looking for information to climb up Tofana di dentro, when did you climb it? I'm planning to go next week and wandering if I have to bring crampons. Thanks
I just bought this pad I’ve open the valve it’s been about 16 hours and it’s still only about 1 inch thick. I know it said the first time it takes a while but seems like it should be thicker after 16 hours. Did you find the first time you inflated this it took a very long time?
Hi, I hope this is the same Plus version pad, because the full thickness is three inches. It make no sense, 16 hours and one inch only. They have the standard version which is 1.5 inch thick, so please check if this is the same pad as mine. But my experience is also not so great in this respect. Initially it would inflate to some point and it was not bad, I would then blow extra air with my mouth. But later, the self-inflation looked far reduced, and this means more air blowing, but this is still fine. I think this all is due to too-big cut-out channels. The foam would be more reactive if it would be more of it inside, but this would make the pad much heavier and bulkier. Not a bad trade-off all in all, I am quite happy with my pad.
@@mountainsforeverybody yeah I thought it would self inflate faster even the first time based on the instructions. I got the regular rectangular, but it’s still supposed to be 3 inches stick. I ended up putting a little air in it with a pump this morning and finished it off super comfortable. I mean not too firm but just really really comfortable. I really like it thanks for the response and I subbed in liked
Yes I know, but the point is that in relative terms the smaller pack's weight is far more increased. It makes sense to think about poncho instead of the usual pack rain cover, as this will protect the hip belt padding as well.
Hi, thanks for the video! Just had two questions: Does the inside have a laptop compartment? And does the dimensions of the bag be allowed to take it with me in the plane as hand carry? Thank you
Regarding the first question, this is a quite technical mountaineering and hiking backpack with an inner sleeve made for a water bladder. But it is large and deep and you can definitely place a laptop in it. As for the second question, this will depend on the rules of the flight company, and cannot say much about this.
They sell separately a set with an inner mat and a footprint. If you follow the link to my review in the site you will see them both. This is not compulsory, I was recently in the mountains with this tent and used it as it is, the floor fabric is strong enough.
@@mountainsforeverybodyah okay perfect! That explains a lot. I thought it didn't come with any floor covering and the mat was needed! Can I ask what mat do you use? I need an affordable option!
@@victorbercian6707 The tent has a very durable floor, no worry about that. I do not use any mat inside, but indeed I am normally in the tent without shoes or sleepers and it can be cold from the ground in a camp in the mountains. Nothing from this brand is really affordable, all they sell is quite expensive but of a high quality.
Hello ! Very good video :) ! I bought the lithium 25 backpack from mammut. On the back I wanted to know if the foam becomes more flexible because I find it a little rigid when I have it on my back. Do you think it wiil be softer with time ? Thank you in advance for your answer :) !!
Hi, yes you are right, all the padding on my 40-liters pack is also considerably more hard than in my other backpacks from Deuter and Osprey for example. However, my experience is very good, never had any unpleasant experience related to this issue. I do not think it will become softer, after using the pack on many tours in the period of 5 weeks, I did not feel any difference.
Hi, sorry for my slow reply, I am in the mountains without the Internet. Not sure what you mean by more focusing on backpacks. I have three of them with me right now. Can you say what should I focus on? I have been using this Mammut Lithium 40 in the past three weeks in real mountain climbing conditions. Tell me more.
Hi, the backpack is just next to me in a camping tent, and I also have my helmet with me. I am in the Slovenian mountains, but have not used it yet on any tour with the helmet, it was raining a lot these days. But I am moving to the Dolomites tomorrow and I might test this. I already know that it is possible, if it is really practical is hard to say for the moment, but I shall check this and perhaps add some paragraphs in my post review in the site. Namely, there are two loops through which the straps for lid closure go from below, they have no other purpose, so here you should be able to attach a helmet. You can also use the wide bottom-front loop in combination with the two mentioned loops.
Yes you are right. I just used my classic pot here in the mountains, I use it for camping and I am in the tent right now. Do not want to use the induction version with a camping gas stove.
