Thanks so much for watching, your comments are always well-appreciated! This was my absolute first time blind-progging and having the crew we did made it such an enjoyable experience. From very experienced with blind prog (Kuma) to pretty much entirely new to savage (Mira). I'm glad it can spark some of that week 1 magic.
I feel the same way as a Dragoon player 😢. What used to be our satisfying big hit now is just one of the big hits instead of the big skill that the rotation was building up to… Way less satisfying. Also RIP Spineshatter Dive, you were better than the stupid no damage dash.
people keep saying that all this job needs is better mp gain but even endwalker drk was not fun. i started learning other tanks and realized how much more fun i could be having playing anything else. the rotation is so hollow and substanceless. the only opti we really have left is tbn and as much as i love that button it feels worse and worse every xpac. something needs to give i miss dark arts! i hate edge of shadow! i miss blood price! i miss having buttons! i miss having gauges! we have two gauges that don't mean anything now! blood gauge doesn't mean anything because you're just saving all of it for burst and keeping it from overcapping and building gauge is only done with the blandest 1-2-3 in the game. i want to have fun again!!! calling the edge gauges darkside and dark arts feels like a bad joke because theyre a joke and don't even solve the problem they were designed to fix aaaaaaaa if 8.0 doesn't rework this job i'm probably not buying the next xpac
Initially I saw that they were removing it, and was fine with it, because having a charge that you have to use in your rotation, that messes with your position is clunky. And then I saw that paladin and warrior still have plunges that damage. Warrior even gets 3 charges instead of 2. Both are classes with 2 rotations and more buttons to press. There’s just no reason to let them keep the damaging charges
I placed the Drk jobstone in my retainer. For all of EW I only played DRK and I never wanted to play anything else, im at a loss for what to play and constantly change mains. I miss drk.

DRK was already in EW Garbage, he was just the "Mash Braindead Buttons!" Tank, and even GNB feels more fun when you like busy Tanks. In DT, DRK just lose his last Mask to hide his _terrible_ Job Design, going back to EW DRK fix nothing, he need a Rework like PLD in EW or even better SMN lvl rework.. we are on a point that the choice is already "bad current DRK" vs "maybe good, maybe bad DRK" PS. Before EW Release, after we know the new buffs etc, everyone (me include) was like "Yeah DRK is clearly the Loser in terms of Tank Changes in EW" (His biggest selling point in ShB was TBN at that point)
DRK is currently the highest damage tank as far as I know. Sure the catch is that it's the worst effective tank and the opener is all over the place, but I wouldn't say it's "bad". Although I agree, after seeing the scrumptious animations it used to have in HW and onwards until EW, you have to wonder why the FUCK they thought it was a good idea to revamp the job into the clunky garbage it is today.
@@silque_brigandess He is atm on the same Lvl like Gunbreaker, but when you look at the Parse Numbers in Total he is the least played Tank in the entire game, because in the end the gap between the dps in the Tanks is often somewhere around 1-2% what is almost nothing. In EW the Tank Parses was kinda 30% PLD 30% WAR 20% GNB 20% DRK what is absolute fine that DRK is more a niche Tank like GNB with less Players like the "easymode" Tanks WAR and PLD But now DRK is clearly behind GNB (in Parse Numbers) what is a clear Indicator that some DPS Buff will not fix anything anymore and i hope the Devs see that DRK need way more love because already in EW you notice DRK was the "unwanted Child" of the 4 Tanks that get way less attention/love then the 3 other Tanks
@@silque_brigandess 'bad', in terms of the feels of actually playing as one. I'm no hardcore player myself, but I was also aware of how DRK was damn near busted dpswise back in EW and how that trait definitely shined in much more dps demanding fights like high tier savage or ultimates. Problem was, even given that info, I never once felt the appeal to dig in DRK for just how clunky the job felt. If there's anything I've learned from DRK's state, it is that DPS performance is nothing but a mere fleeting number, and the 'feel' of the job is what really stays and thus matters. Now that DRK's unrivaled DPS is gone, the lesson shines even more apparent. (+edit : emphasis on 'unrivaled'. I'm aware that DRK even now still pumps out pretty high numbers among tanks, but it is nowhere as distinctive as that of EW's.) Such a shame really. Wielding a big @ss sword can never be not cool, and I really want to give it a go as I've played other 3 tanks long enough.
DRK loosing hard since Shadowbringers launch is a thing that is super interesting to see and annoying to play. That we crave just another of its worst states to play is absolutely astounding.
@@Xxiev we unquestioningly ate shadowed vigil up because for a single moment every two minutes we can forget we have 0 sustain compared to the other tanks
@@JaydenzOmega we spent all of 6.5 being at the bottom of the charts, and now despite being top in every percentile... It's just not the same. Victory wasn't worth what we lost...
@@literalsoup even then people were demanding double DRK for parse runs cause of how much dmg it did under buffs (and the history repeats itself this patch except job feels worse to play)
@@JaydenzOmega truly the DRK cycle. "remove feature" "buff damage to compensate" "buff other tanks" "DRK still does the most damage at 99th percentile" repeat forever. Surely they can't make the job worse than it is now with a third or more of your total damage coming from Hard Slash - Syphon Strike - Souleater.
Now I get even haunted by this crap in my RU-vid recommended. Lost 18 games in a row last week cause I kept getting grouped against DRK premades and had AFK XP leechers on my Teams. Zero luck that week
I'd be down with this for almost every job but MNK, because taking away my tornado kick burst and instead forcing me to do 6 parts of a 7-step combo to get to the fun part of burst while maintaining the flashing "I AM ABOUT TO BURST YOU" sign was pretty rude.
Valigarmanda was such a *cool* trial after going into this expecting to have, you know, just a calm, relaxing vacation, when suddenly someone decides to release the local Apocalypse Bird with four or five new mechanics it expects you to figure out on the fly.
