I'm Alessandra and I love to voice stuff....seriously this channel was intended to be for Voice Over practice buuuuut now it's just turned into a "w/e I feel like doing right now" channel - most of which is gaming, short stories or unboxings. Bring back the 2010s amirite. There's no schedule to uploads or what I upload....it's free real estate.
I check Tumblr and Twitter the most for DMs. If you have a project and need a voice hmu I'll audition.

Fully disagree, they borrowed too heavily from the films which leaned more into her being a "nepo-baby" chasing daddy's past. It was more interesting, empowering, and made her an ACTUALLY flawed character when she did these things fully for herself. She was not a hero, and Crystal continue to fail at this core (pardon the pun) understanding of her. All this being said, the LAU trilogy is still better than the reboot franchise.
I want someone who thinks this game is easy to try playing it on the hardest difficulty. The motorcycle levels and the last level will take hours I promise
Just started playing this on a flash cart for my 3DS with GBA emulators. Loving it so far although I feel the combat is a little bit unnecessarily obtuse at times
Cool review of one of my favorite games (if not the most favorite). The annoying gameplay elements can be omitted completely in Switch/Smartphone remake, depending on the mode you play. The last annoying mechanic left is treasure box roulette, which can be turned off only if you beat the game once. But maybe we will convince Sting to give an option to turn it off from the start in the Steam release.
05:32 >"here it is really modernized, and you don't need to pay attention to precise movement that much" Thus, you yourself come to the conclusion Legend is NOT the best Raider. And never was. The best are the Classics made by Core.
I believe the title of the video is a bit oversimplified, which she implies 'the best for a newbie' to the franchise, of course the OG games are like hard mode and 'modern' is more approachable. That being said, in the comments she's admitted to not having tried the remasters, which have that mix of OG and modern controls being the sweet spot for newbie and aging fans (myself) of Core series.
Nah- it’s still better than the core games- better story- better multi faceted Lara- better puzzles that have more variety than lever pulling. The classics are great too
@@dariuscoates894 Crystal Dynamics trilogy's story is cringy and straight out of a predictable early-2000s mid-budget blockbuster. Nothing interesting to it, and nothing too meaningful to extract from the succession of events. Core (especially with TR1 and TR4) stays at the level of having a simple story with less convolution, but with lots of foreboding and tension to it, being more adjusted to budged and hardware limitations. A "simple story" can actually serve to illustrate deeper themes btw: Silent Hill 2 has a "simple story" _("find missing wife in creepy city...oh snap things aren't what they seem!!!")_ and is much deeper in its themes than Tomb Raider Legend Lara's character is also downgraded with Crystal Dynamics, going from battle-hardened fearless explorer of mysterious intent, to snarky nerd Mary Sue who doesn't keep stop talking to herself. The puzzles are seemingly "better" with Crystal Dynamics because technology evolved to allow for some basic playing around with physics and boxes and whatnot. Level design is much better with Core's games, ESPECIALLY in the games where they were given breathing room as devs (like TR1 and TR4). Angel of Darkness even with its many flaws (due to little time to develop it, mostly) is a testament of what Core would pull if they were given more leeway and time to properly work on things.
I my word, do we share the same brain? I couldn't agree more with this video. To me, Legend represents Lara Croft at her most beautiful, badass and charming. They took everything that worked for her as a character from the Core games and added smooth controls. I love the way the subtly updated the classic costume as well. And in my personal opinion, "Nepal 2" is a frickin MASTERPIECE of music. It's so beautiful.
Love your video, thank you! Good to see theres’ so many people who couldnt get into survivor series. I hated them. Nothing about them made me feel I was playing a Tomb Raider game. I felt more like I was playing uncharted with an even more boring protagonist than Nathan Drake. Hope they bury the survivor Lara imposter and let it rest.
Great game! I had it on original Xbox as a kid and 360 now. Underworld is probably my favourite of the trilogy. I love the core games and the first reboot but I agree the reboot reboot trilogy ain't so great
Best incarnation of Lara Croft, absolutely! The gameplay in my opinion was not exactly perfect, but it had the best story (though I think it should have been concluded at the end of this game), music, admosphere, dialogue, and like I said: Lara. I'm kinda surprised you didn't mention Guardian of Light and Temple of Osiris. They're not entirely the same as a Tomb Raider experience, but they're good games and do have the true Keeley Hawes-voiced Lara Croft.
8:30 Hah, me too! My Mom actually calls her Laura just to get a reaction out of me! (But it's all in good fun!) 14:30 Wait, it is??? So this song is not sung in Hindi like I thought?
Great video, i rarely feel gaming nostalgia, because i have been playing league only from season 4 since this day. However ur video got me back in those careless times. My mother bought me this game and i was obsessed with lara. I was really sick and the only thing i was doing was to play this game on my laptop at the hospital and i will for sure comeback soon to play it again. I didn't know that it was a trilogy so i will play them all in the order you suggested. Thank you so much for this video ❤
Totally agree. Fans like to call it tomb raider light but it’s a great game imo. The London and Nepal levels are quite challenging. I love collecting the bronze, silver, and gold rewards to each level. Lars’s home is excellent in this game, especially the gymnasium part. Replay value is high overall.
This Lara did have vulnerable moments but they added to her complexity instead of making her seem weak or incompetent. Also glad to see there's another Zip and Allister enjoyer out there. I always defend them. The Xbox 360 version was the one I played and I recommend that. It's basically just an HD upscale but it still looks really good in my opinion.
This one the first Tomb Raider that was made for a people who don't like to dwell in a tomb for 20 hours looking for an exit (you know, the ones who work all day, have families etc.). OG TR games was basically a dungeon crawler on steroids with some acrobatics, but this one gave me hope. And dammit Underworld ruined it. TRL made important move to move the game out of nerds' basement to light of day (just as Lies of P doing that to souls-like games now). Sad it was dropped and forgotten like it never happened.
When you said "SLAPS" and clapped? Chef's kiss. Liked the video. When you did the double "Eh.... EH..."? Subbed 😂 Thank you RU-vid algorithm for recommending this superb little gem, and thank you Alessandra for this MASTER CLASS video 💖 Truly a joy to watch! Legend always stuck out to me as one of the crowning games in the franchise, from a life long, OG Tomb Raider fan. Having played the reboots they honestly don't even feel like Lara Croft anymore... ALSO! I've got the original Legend on PS2, and it's flawless, whilst the Xbox 360 version, played on the Xbox One, is actually really buggy too?? Missing textures are everywhere, and one time Lara's outfit was just white. No texture, only white.
To save the new ones a bit, I like to believe that that Lara Croft became this one. So young version was new and not confident, she went through some crap and then became this one. I know it isn't the actual thing as they each have their own time-line for her, but look, it's the only way I can do it lmao
This made me feel so seen. Lol. I played the original PS1 TR games, but I was honestly too young to be any good at them- Legend was *my* Tomb Raider game, the first one I ever finished. Dynamic levels, a solid and heartbreaking story, combat that feels impressive but wasn't too difficult, and a mansion to wander around in wearing pretty outfits, discovering secrets. I've replayed it so many times.
Tomb Raider 1-5 games are the only TR games. TR Legend is barely a game, let alone a TR game. More like an interactive movie with non-existent exploration and a lot of spoonfeeding to the player. Yes, I completed your favourite trilogy on my PS2 & PS3, including Underworld and Anniversary with those checkpoints every 15 seconds where dying has zero consequences.. Those are alright experiences if you are really bored (just like that funny Indiana Jones and Staff of Kings)
The Legend trilogy is playable. But poor. Everything past that is bad. TR1/TR2/TR3 (original releases.) are basically the best 3 TR games. The other 2 Playstation ones are playable. But poor. AOD is actually perfectly acceptable. On an emulator with save states. Otherwise.. It's poor.
I love your love for Legend, but I must politely disagree about Lara herself. I hate reboot Lara even more and never liked Legend Lara because she was VASTLY different from classic Lara. Her personality after Angel of Darkness was changed beyond recognition, but it seems people forgive this because she has 2 pistols, lol.
This trilogy was peak Tomb Raider for me Lara's whole serious to sarcastic personality was the best was my 1st ever Tomb Raider game and the music to this game omg especially the music in Bolivia Japan and Kazakhstan
Thanks for this video I never even knew about these games. I just downloaded them.they on sale on steam for 1$ each but God knows they arent patched or fixed on there. probably need to download widescreen fix and jump through a bunch of hoops to get it running via Steam. Cracked versions work great! GOG versions come pre-patched. thats why i love GOG so much more. They need more games.
