Welcome to the channel of Kent County Michigan's tornado sirens. This channel features mainly 2001's considering it's what Kent County mostly has but will have a few surprises here and there along the way. Enjoy
FYI the dishes are not for the siren. I've seen the controls and the antenna is a bog standard white whip mounted directly next to the FCTB controller. You can see it in some of the other videos of this siren, it's the same thing that's on all of the 2001s in Kent county. Great video otherwise!
Yes, thank you! I'm glad you like them. This siren has an interestingly deeper pitch to it for an SRN. I will be able to make the next test on April 5, 2024 during my spring break. Thank you for watching!
Yes, you're right. The one by the library on West River drive or the one by the library by the Circle K gas station? Cuz both had a tree that fell very close to them!
Yeah, I went by those sirens to see if they turned ( or activated) when the tornado happened. That's when I saw those trees. They were taken out right before this test happened. I have a recording of that siren if you want to check it out.
Awesome. I was out in walker as well verifying an SRN that was a possible failure during the tornado a week before the test. It worked just fine and didn't have any issues. Having this video evidence will help me with a project I have going on.
That thunderbolt sounded for a tornado warning yesterday!! I didn't hear it, cause I live in a different town. But I got the alert. The tornado touched down near Rockford and Comstock Park. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@sirenhunter321 oddly enough, the siren system (4 ASC T-128s) in the town i live in has failed to activate 5 of the 9 monthly tests so far this year.........
@@sirenhunter321 ive spoken with the village EMA coordinator, he says the factory had to repair the main control PCB due to a power surge frying several circuits a few months ago. We shall see/hear if the October 3rd monthly test works.
