At Computer Help Northern Ireland (which is now closed to the public), we provided troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades for PC and Mac desktops and laptops, and we would only charge a fee if we could fix your problem. Watch as we worked on computers and occasionally reviewed products.
Thank you for the video! I have one of these laptops and it's the most reliable computer I've ever used. Anyone who says otherwise got a bad example, the Pavilion series has been the most bulletproof computer I've ever used!
Gracias, gracias, muchísimas gracias. Tenía exactamente la misma láptop, y la misma situación de hacer un upgrade de un disco SSD clonado y tuve el mismo problema y no lo podía resolver. Min: 11:01 Saludes desde Nicaragua.
Im like 25 minutes deep into this video and its like watching a video of my last 2 days of work. I don't kno if you solve the problem or not. (I assume you do) but the 40 minutes of boot combinations and swapping cards is a life saver for me. Thank you so much
Hi! There I have the same model with me right now but I am bit puzzled about how you are able to run windows 10 on this old laptop without major upgrade like cup and ram bcus most repair shop owners would say it's not worth it even with upgradation and I also noticed that you didn't wiped off the old heat sink clean off the cpu .
How did you fix the windows installation error? Every time I'm getting: 0xC1900101-0x30004 The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during INSTALL_RECOVERY_ENVIRONMENT operation
Thank you so much. Looking at you expertly work has given me instruction and inspiration on fixing a faulty hinge area on my Tosh L50-t I know what to expect as I open up the hinge area.
And to think the places I've asked around refuse to fix my hinge because it's touchscreen which is really frustrating because I can't afford to get a new laptop right now is there a difference between this and a Chromebook?
Thanks! For a cooling fan, it's not critical to disconnect the battery first. (For LCD panels, it definitely IS critical that you disconnect the battery before connecting or disconnecting the cable, to avoid blowing the backlight fuse.)
MAGIC MY FRIEND ....THANKS 😊 I spent 2 days trying to suss out this very problem & watched your vid ....disconnected the keyboard and it works fine now with external keyboard. This is the computer you get given for free if you are on Universal credit ( welfare) in UK so you have helped a skint, unemployed musician loads ! Many thanks and love from Cornwall ❤❤
Wow, amazing repair. The raised parts of the screw inserts on one side of my HP Envy have each broken into several pieces, so I'm not sure I could reconstruct them. Would the superglue+baking soda resin be enough to hold the metal lugs in place if I built it up enough? As opposed to here, where the resin supports the original plastic casings? Great music on the video too!
Yes, I've done several such repairs using baking soda and Super Glue to reattach the brass threaded inserts. The hardest part is getting them back exactly where they need to be so that the threads will line up.
@@ComputerHelpNI thank you. I'm going to try blu-tak in the gap under the brass inserts to hold them in place. I decided on araldite instead of the superglue as I didn't trust myself not to make loads of mess. Thanks for the advice.
Thank you! This is so helpful. I have a chromebook that the bottom bezel and screen seperate from the back case when opening, the lcd is still good, so I guess it is not really easily repairable. It is the second one as well. So ya. Thanks for the video, it was helpful so I didn't break my chromebook tring to fix it.
Thank you for your help. If it was not for your video, I would not have been able to replace my LCD. You save me money because I was going to throw away my chromebook when the LCD was broken.👍
Hi - superb video and very helpful! My son dropped his chromebook (exact model for this video) and tished the screen. I bought the replacement model and followed your video to the letter. The chromebook works perfectly. Thank you for posting it :) By the way, we live in New Zealand. Not that it matters, but thank you from the kiwis 👍
Aw, so glad I could help. This video was my very first foray into micro-soldering, and luckily it worked out. This seems to be a somewhat common issue in that laptop series. Hopefully you'll be able to fix yours!
Oh no! Whenever that happens to me, I use my best0fitting screwdriver bit, tap it in a little, and first try turning the screw clockwise (i.e. the opposite of what you'd think) just to see if I can get it moving. Obviously the most important part is to not strip it! (Although if that happens you could use a drill or Dremel tool to remove the screwhead.)
How did you start windows installing procedure? Its coming with win10 but is it posible to restart everything on factory state, like on first day i bougt it laptop.
If you install Windows using a bootable USB drive, you can completely overwrite the internal SSD with a 'fresh' copy of Windows. Careful: After doing this, you might need to download some drivers for the laptop, and I'm not sure how hard or easy the drivers are for this laptop.
