The lead singer Courtney speaks out a lot about social justice, BLM, trans rights, white supremacy, religious turmoil.. so I think k she’s calling out society in general. The second verse lyrics reminds me of Native Americans and POC being colonized. I love this band because they write about real shit! Great reaction ❤!
My take is that it's about so-called christians who are anything but... who have chosen a version of their lord who is the total opposite of the one in their book of beliefs (hence the regicide line). And so your god will sort you when you die... because you've clearly corrupted your beliefs with your soft spines.
Definitely hit the nail on the head with the elements! When you said 'red in the blue, because he's cut but he's also drowning' was the first time that lyric actually clicked for me! Although I am still somewhat new to the Sleep fanbase I have been addicted most of 2024. Great review brother. Keep listening to the best band in the world 😊😊
This song was my introduction to Sleep Token. After I heard it I was hooked. I devoured everything they've done and it was a spiritual experience 😂. Listened to their entire discography from beginning to end (I had nothing to do that day 😂) and I felt like I was floating while I laid on my bed. It's was a wonderful experience. Seeing them live just made me even more addicted 😂. So, I understand since this song was one you reacted to first that you would say it's your favorite. But wait until you go through this album and get to the end, then tell us which song is your favorite. Lol they only get better and better! Worship ❤
I started listening to Tool in 1992 and it is absolutely ruined every other music out there for me. I could never find anything else that had quite the same connection to me.
Well said. I think it was 93 for me, my senior year in high school, when Sober hit the MTV circuit. My eyes and ears did not waiver once from the TV. There is not one album that I am not disappointed in as they feed my soul.
I love your reactions to Sleep Token's live shows. Only “Are you really okay?” and “The Apparition” from this album they didn't perform live p.s if you are looking for Granite live, be sure to take it from Hamburg 2023, where Vessel sings in cat ears lol
I promise you that no one in the Tool army will tell you to skip ahead on anything. Fear inoculum is Tool's way of saying not to be afraid. Their music is an antidote in a way. imho.
It's so cool coming full circle. I've really enjoyed your journey and glad you appreciate the concept from beginning to end. Can't wait to see your reactions to the rest. I hope you continue to do first album version then the live one. That's so cool when you do that. You're going to really like the next one live! Has a drum solo!!! Worship ❤
Really enjoy the reactions to live versions of songs, and especially like you said with this one, now that youve gone to the beginning it has a bit more depth to it than just initially hearing it
Doing a catch up with your Sleep Token reaction videos (took a little break since I'm seeing them live in December & didn't want to get burn out), but had to watch this one first just to say it's great how you're watching so many of their live performances. It's so fun. Hope you watch a live of 'Rain' when you get to it. Their prettiest light show!
Thanks for reviewing. The song was written by Vlad the drummer when Putin first started bombing Ukraine. This is a Ukrainian band. He was literally there when it was happening. Rogue references Putin. Once you understand that context, the viciousness of the "melody" makes more sense. You were right in reading into it about blindly following your "leader". "In the land of the blind, the one-eyed is the king."
rogue is PUTIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanx for your interest & your reaction on a world class band............... warm greetings from germany & from the german musician
