Definitely...wonder why he thinks it's even close to be newsworthy? For MOST of us (unwashed masses). But then there certainly ARE people with big-money who CAN pay cash, and TMK MOST people who buy homes in The Villages (and likely the other 55+ communities nearby, like On Top of the World) pay cash...only a minority buying in those places need to get a mortgage. As for home prices, from what I can tell most homes in America's hotter markets are still way overpriced -- at least by 30%. So while I'd like to see home prices come down MORE (they are, but only slowly in many markets, not all markets) the mortgage interest rate is MY biggest obstacle -- won't pay current (and also inflated) rates. -- BR

Tacky as hell... Florida is the stucco, boring hell, with houses squased next to each other.. Then add the "villages" to it, and you have what we call 'hell on earth" No way, not now, not ever.
Being paid to live somewhere sounds nice! That is perfectly acceptable. The Villages isn't for everybody. Good thing there are communities all over the country if you are interested in a 55 plus community. Thank for interacting with our page.
It would be nice if The Villages came up with some new designs. These homes are all alike. It’s nice, but looks pretty much like every other home of this size in TV.
Mowing. These St Augustine lawns, perfectly maintained, are a feature of suburban life prized by residents. Commonly contracted and maintained, fences would cause a huge increase in costs.

I live in a Bridgeport, and we bought it because it reminds of homes in our native Michigan. Big kitchen, 1/2 bath close to kitchen, and separation between kitchen and living room.
