Millenia secured a 30 million dollar loan in March 2024 to specifically rehab their Michigan properties. Their properties still have toilets broken, no air conditioning and worse. When I contact the manager about a maintenance request, they are dismissive and disrespectful. Nothing gets repaired. Management lies about receiving work orders.
I live in a Millennia complex NC ..I've been following the stories and complaints against them. ..no security or outside lights..pitch dark at night . I.did a work request on Friday, March 1, and went into office today March 4 to drop off my rent check and asked them when they will fix the outside lights..she wrote it down again..and said they will get it done ..all these issues are the same scenarios of millennia not having the maintenance crew to keep up with the demand..and the tenants suffer...and i seldom make request for anything..just getting this off my chest,and we shall see what becomes of Millennia,and HUD... thank you
Now if you live in one of the properties they supposedly manage be looking for you didn't pay rent on time or not at all with late fees going back to the day they took over the properties. Worst place to live ever outside of Hell itself. Office closed and the security if even there is for the few people Who work there ..NOT for the residents.

They have a sneaky way of making things look better, window dressing - so a prettier lobby, new grass, etc., but nothing else is done correctly, no repairs, still unsafe electrical conditions, leaking roofs, etc.,

Ohio here, Millennia assumed ownership of the property I have lived in for over 18 years in 2016. It was really nice at first, they spent money on the outside and inside, saying it was going to be luxury living apartments. Then, Shellie Martin showed up about 3.5 years ago as the new property manager. She single-handedly ruined this property, destroying the upgrades, and then allowed anyone to move in here when it was a 55+ property before. We now have property damage EVERYWHERE, inside and out. People steal packages every day here so you have to track everything to know when it's coming. It is FILTHY DIRTY here now, all over. There is water damage everywhere and in apartments that Shellie REFUSES to make right. I have water damage in every room of my apartment and they will gaslight you into thinking they are gonna fix it all but they NEVER DO. I have closet doors that are broken, I have water leaks in my bedroom closet, and I have had problems for two Winters of not having ANY HEAT, or it's so hot in here it literally drives me out. My cupboards are disintegrating, kitchen tiles are loose due to water damage. We have a large Cockroach infestation and Shellie will NOT pay for the hallways and trash rooms/laundry rooms to be exterminated. She only allows them to do your apartment and then Roaches come back in from the hall. I never thought I would live like this and I can't wait to get out of here. I don't even care that Shellie knows I have told you this, let her try to come for me over it. I'm DONE. There is so much more happening here but it would take all day to add everything. I don't have people coming to my apartment to visit me here, it's too humiliating to let them see what I am living in and with now. It's the most disgusting place I have EVER lived at. I am here through AMHA and even they are disgusted by this property now and they KNOW what it looked like before Shellie showed up. She keeps finding new ways to charge us more money, pet deposit when we already paid and were grandfathered in by Millennia yet she tried to make us pay again. She's overcharged me on the electricity for almost two years now. There is NO LIGHTING in the parking lot at night, it's pitch black out there. You need flashlights to see. We had a news station come to do a story about it in January and when they tried to talk to Shellie, she locked the doors and hid in her office. Millennia then put out a statement that "tenant safety is high on our list" bull. They have not DONE ANYTHING about it so we will go through yet another Winter where it's pitch black out there. People are getting their cars broken into at night. No security cameras and they promised the Akron Police Dept that they would install them. They didn't do it
Oh, and for the THIRD Winter in a ROW, I am sitting here with NO HEAT. NONE. It's 38 degrees outside and the heating pipes are as cold as ICE. Are you guys still wanting this kind of information?

People have got to voice the problems that they are going through. This bunch is getting rich off of funds from us and the Government. This is criminal in other words there are laws that apply to violations that are common in the properties owned/managed by them. Why is HUD Not doing anything while the property owners/managers continue to receive funds from the Federal government as well as from the Tenants? Sign the petition and raise awareness of what is happening PLEASE.
I live in a millenia housing complex in fremont ohio. The news is coming to report on the condition of my unit. 5 months of reporting mold and bugs and electricity issues and floors coming up. Noone has ever emailed or called me back from coperate and hudd says can't do anything. I'm taking them to court for rent to go to escrow. It's so bad. I've begged for help. I pay 750 a month to live in this dump and it was just "remodeled ". Please reach out to me. I am not giving up. They will not win. This is so sad
This is great! I would say, the claim that tenants cannot be evicted for organizing should be heavily qualified. They absolutely will retaliate against you for tenant organizing, and landlord get away with it all the time by using very flimsy pretexts. People should certainly still organize but don't have the illusion that laws themselves will protect you, the union might but the law probably won't if you're living in a state like Ohio where laws are not enforced

Do not be fooled by this video. He is ok with people living with: Bugs Mold Dirty/ leaky water Ruin floors and roof Just name a couple. I have evidence and proof. Discrimination of all kinds.
