Thanks for the videos! I just orderd my t10 with birdseye. Did you manually measure the dimensions on your truck or did you lookup/find factory specs somewhere?
Resolution wise I don't remember a difference I could detect. The new head unit screen is larger then the old one so if the camera resolution was lower I figure it would show up. Even though I did the best calibration I could, the fish eye correction isn't as good as stock on some of the views but just as good in others.
Overall we really like the unit. It does have a few quirks. Sometimes the Android Auto or Apple CarPlay is slow to connect especially if you only turn off the car for a short time. In my mind this head unit helped us to make the 4runner feel newer for longer so that we didn't buy something else. Also the microphone is pretty bad and so sometimes people have a hard time hearing you on the car phone. I even tried buying a different microphone and using it but the quality is still bad. I give it an 8.5 out of 10 and we would purchase it again. The only other thing is I had to buy a new wiring harness for the 360 cameras because I took my unit in and out so often that I damaged them so be careful about that.
Hey, quick question. This might be answered later, but does this just integrate with an already existing 360 camera system, or does this come with the cameras to add that functionality? I have a 2021 TRD ORP, which was before they offered a 360 camera.
There is no 360 camera system that I am aware of on a 5th Gen 4Runner, this head unit came with 4 cameras and did not use the original backup camera. This install video shows you how to install the cameras primarily.
@@TaylorHuston I stand corrected. I just looked and in 2022 they had the panoramic view option and multi-terrain monitor on the TRD pro. I must admit I haven't looked at new 4runner in a few years. I've been waiting on the new generation to come out. Thanks for the info.
Anyone know if this model (TYRN10190602T10360) or some other one is compatible with a 2011 4Runner Limited with a touchscreen & JBL audio? The web page for this model says "2010-2013 with touchscreen UNIT no JBL".
I'm not sure. There would for sure be an extra wiring harness and app required. I would ask the guys at cartrimhome. They have a Facebook group and are really good about responding.
I see below where you mention you did not connect the red wire on the mirror to anything. Did you tie in the reverse cameral red wire to anything? Did you use the multi cameral harness for the T10? If so, those also have a short red wire. I'm trying to find out if those need connected to anything. Any advise on all the red wires for the 360 camera system?
King Sev asked that I refer people back to his video for installing the head unit itself. I just verified that none of my 4 cameras have the red wire hooked to anything. They are powered by and send signal via the 4 colored connectors without the red wire being hooked to anything.
Hi, I have a doubt. I recently installed a 360 camera in my Toyota Pravo VX 2007 similar to the one you installed in your vehicle, but placing it in reverse activates the 360 view (like a bird's eye) and it doesn't look good at all. Also, how do you configure the screen correctly so that you can see the 360 view on the left side and the camera that I need in the center of the screen? Very nice video helped me through my install, I have 2 questions. 1 how would I remove the mute when cameras click in at low speed, my music shuts off but I have my reverse volume all the way up. 2 did you find how to remove the yellow grid lines.
Did you try to use the stock rear cam for reversing? I wanted to while installing the 360 kit cameras but can't seem to find the option to disable the 360 app for the time being.
@Terry Blue so I ordered the t10v3 with 360 cam , didn't realized u have to run all new cameras . Is it possible to just hook up the normal reverse cam ? I plugged in the two yellow reverse cam plugs but when I put it into reverse the blank 360 screen pops up . I don't have any social media so this is my only way to reach out for help . If u could find out if I'm screwed or not Cas I ordered the 360 I would greatly appreciate it . Thank u in advance.
@@sailfishoneday2145 I'm fairly certain if you bought the 360 version that you cannot use the stock camera. Everything I've read indicates that you have to install the included 360 cameras.
@Terry Blue thanks for the reply. after lots and lots of Google searches I found out how to disable the 360 cam in the settings of the radio and then the radio worked with my stock 360 cameras ....also shows stock camera 360 image . Idk why this was so difficult to find out or why people are keeping it secret but the 360 headunit works with stock 360 cameras , not the greatest resolution but it works .
