I used to own Teviotdale Lodge ihotel n Hawick. I am English, but still flew the Scottish flag, which told anyone,. This is a Scottish hotel and restaurant which , although being operated by the English, had a very deep respect for Scotland and it's people. I thought I would be met with anymosity and hatred. The truth could not have been different. it was the best time of my life. The Scots don't hate the English. I never felt it.
I got two grand American. Can I get one of those used vehicles? Whoa! I need one of those steamers. Did Prince Charles just roll out of that vehicle? Before it stopped? "If its' not Scottish...it's crap".
Lots to say. A veil he can keep. Do the British still have a "spot of tea"? Prince Charles is a handsome man. What happened to the Handsom cabs? Could he make a visit to Windsor Canada at the toilet seat factory where I work?
My goodness I am just finding out about Common Riding , what a wonderful tradition , all the community involved . My Mother’s name was Young a common Borderer name will someone adopt me please so I can join in , and I can ride too .

It seems so strange to be a descendant of the Borders born in a colonialist situation in another country wishing that I was an immigrant to my families Scotland. I just feel so sad. How strange history is. Life gets so complicated. Best wishes to find your best possible staff.
IS it because of a public licence that you cannot give us the real sound of this event ? I think it looks great with a celtic frost sound track blasting away ! heehee ! ..
An excellent speech (as ever) Mr Young. One small correction - Sir William Douglas was the Baron of Hawick at the time of Flodden; he died on the field and his son James was possibly present at Hornshole the next year.
Always enjoy the videos, why do all the principals have to read the words of the songs, surely they should know them,I remember them from my primary school days, and that's a long time ago.!!!
