I really don't like this ending. It really feels like a slap on the wrist to see that power hungry tyrant of a child to just escape and avoid the responsibilities for all of the atrocious things he's done. The protagonist just doesn't seem to care either, he just lets him go because he's his friend..? Who also betrayed him, and refused to end the war.. for what reason? For peace? I honestly don't think they should've let him go.
27:12 This is the part that really emphasizes the "We want the game to end with a really fucking sick final battle against a big guy." There just being a HUGE pair of sunglasses just... AROUND. On a random billboard, gigantic, and built like actual sunglasses, with moving temples (arms) and everything. Just fucking hanging out on top of a random building. That's so contrived that it wheels back around to being really fucking cool. And the little grin Mecha Smith does after putting on is everything to me.
Suikoden 2 will always hold a special place in my heart. The last boss battle and perfect ending are truly epic! I agree, we definitely need some new Suikoden games to continue this amazing series. Who else is hoping for a comeback? 🌟
Sadly they didn't go with the planned alternate ending which would have been way more Barker. (Something about the kid needing a soul to free himself and then accepting Ross as a soul to battle the Queen that had tried to steal his power and was the reason he even had access to the material plane to begin with.) Though that might have been because there was still a second one planned at the time. If someone here has unlocked all the texts; was it worth it?
@@kxngNaki1252immortalsoul I mean considering that he worked with the G-Man to do the whole crystal project in HL1 while he was the administrator it'd make sense that he knows him, indeed interesting how he knows about his powers though
The concept has always been cool. It's the only thing that has always consistently drawn me to this game. Very surprised with some of the comments saying the game was good and an "underrated gem." I say that because in terms of gameplay and design, this game is actually pretty ass. I mean that's the entire gameplay loop right there. Run around in a circe mindlessly firing at whatever enemy, teammates get down every other second, revive, repeat with nothing ever changing. Ya'll have some low ass standards. Smh
Riou refuse to accept the black sword rune. So he didn't have true rune of beginning, right? He is not immortal then. For some reason, I think it's for the better. What is more happier than grow old, and die together with the people you love.
@@Tertium94 yep. They are 2 parts of true rune of beginning. If Riou accepted Jowy's black shield rune, then Riou would have the true rune. Sadly, this is all just a speculation. We will never know now. Especially after Murayama san has passed away.
Nice sniping. I used to play this map on team deathmatch all the time. Probably my favourite battlefield purely because i didn't like how the helicopter controls changed for 4
"This facility is now under the command of the Earth Defense Force drop your weapon immediately all armed personnel will be shot on sight" That line is chilling and intimidating
This video shows just how good this game really was. Shame Codemasters was such a scumbag publisher, and they never could get the code back or expand it, it would've been great with a co-op considering 'possession' of the squad members was already a core fundamental, just adding networking and a 2nd player would have been easy. Back when adults still made stories/games. The nuance was that they would have been totally unable to do anything if Ross wasn't given that ability to remain as a spirit and possess after he died early in the game. But by possessing while the firstborn tried to steal the person's soul, it made him vulnerable to them probably. It seems like a typical mechanic but it's actually more indepth than the usual thing nowadays, because once you get to it, you'd just engage in a big firefight, and would possibly have to take some time to think out what to do first. Plus it makes sense that while the story goes: God made the Firstborn but then locked it away, yes it was invulnerable to outside attacks, but wasn't invulnerable to itself.
