What's up! I'm Kyle and I cruise around Central Texas on my looking for cool places to go and fun things to try. I'm going to film it, lets see how it goes.
I think the CVO looks rad. You're absolutely right with parts and labor it almost costs as much as a CVO short 3k....I think they did everything right. If you want a hardcore ADV bike you need to get a KTM or GS....
I like my scout 101 but it came with mirrors down for me. The ride home I had so much anxiety as I was not used to the placement I flipped them first thing when I got in my garage. Feels more usable now, but it’s less cool looking 😂
Yay for Indian's pricing being 10 grand more than it should for _EVERYTHING._ Don't we all love Congress spending trillions on crap and handing us the credit card bill?
Hey man, great vid. I’m a shorter guy and was wondering if this reduces the reach to the bars a bit as that’s my biggest gripe about the bobber. I’d like one but without reducing the reach it would be pretty uncomfortable
It's so frickin' funny that every time time I search for a Dean Speed part for my Scout, your videos come up. Seems as though my bike is going to look exactly like yours since you've basically thrown on everything I am. Great videos as always, subbed!
You’d love a lightweight eMTB like a Shuttle SL or a Rise LT. They jump MUCH better than old school eMTBs. And neat rack for your Harley! I’ve done a few thousand miles of Bike on Bike adventures over the years, I will admit it’s a rolling cluster… It’s also a lot of fun!
When it comes to bars, I definitely recommend looking to Moto brands like Renthal. Obv, you'll need to drill the bars still but 7/8" is the standard sizing. Great video though, I'm looking to move back to cruisers and the Scout Bobber is what I'm looking at but I wanted to a club style. Awesome vid!
Please research how much/many of the greater Bentonville Mtn bike trails are back to being fully open … after the storm damage during May Bike Fest. We were in vrbo rented house who literally felt the walls shake and felt pressure drops/increases as the tornado missed us by about 1.5 blocks. What a stellar riding locale --> a test ride of a nice E-bike after our non-e-bike racing revealed their merits… just fyi !!!
Geez you were close! From what I’ve read they’re just now starting to reopen most of the trails I think to have them ready for 4th of July weekend. Can’t wait! That whole town seems awesome. Thanks!
Cool video. Got some cross ups on a few of those jumps, noice! I recently bought a new Specialized, which I love. I put about 10k on my old bike, so thought it was time for an upgrade. I’m doing road work mostly for exercise and clearing the cobwebs out. Have to move the blood everyday. 😎👍
Glad you finally let the people know your biking background, some would even say a local legend (idk who those some are but some im sure) hahah dude the bike looks so fucking sick with a MTB on the side, I absolutely think you need to film more adventures and create a second channel where youre not bound to one genre, would be so badass. can't wait to see the Arkansas trip, you have me out here writing down a damn list of things I need to buy in life. the camera angles looked great may be some new angles to add but they weren't choppy or bitratey. keep it up!!!
Those look great! This video definitely helped me decide on these but being 6-8 week customs, I’m still a little nervous to order. How was working with the company?
Brother, just stumbled across your video, this riding is outstanding. Your bike sounds good, lovetheriding content. Looking forward to checking out the rest. Have wanted to ride this stretch for some time. Great cabin choice as well.
Ordered everything you listed in the link. Appreciate it bro. How long did the front brake line take to deliver ? It’s been over a week & hasn’t come in
@angelovicale9347 I ordered everything from Dean Speed so it all came together so about 8 weeks because the raisers have a longer lead time for shipping
Thats in April. At that time of the year, there is a chance it can snow. So I may need to rent a U-haul truck just to get through the mountain pass. Ive riden in snow a couple times, its not the most fun thing to do. Thats a decision that will be taken in accordance to the weather forecast when the time come.
Interesting idea! I hope it works well for you! I went with a 2x2 and have published about a half dozen videos with moto camping/MTB trips with it. I’m a bit too aggressive on the motorcycle to use your style of rack, but it’s cool to see the concept! If I build up a more road oriented motorcycle, I’ll keep the side- mount style in mind! As much as I like my 890r as a one and done dual sport/touring/adv solution, something lower to the ground, smoother, and quieter would be nice for long hauls. Keep it up!!!
Thanks I appreciate it!! I rode bmx for over a decade and new the whole MTB thing but I’m kinda obsessed now haha. Can’t wait to go on some camping/ MTB trips with the motorcycle! Definitely going to deep dive your channel, your videos looks awesome!
Neat rack . It's best feature is load and unload in seconds. Awesome pan am. I have a 2x2 cycles rack welded to my indian ftr 1200 luggage rack . Have done some moto camping, and for me longer trips 1-200 miles with the MTB. Xl evil wreckoning, XXl nukeproof scout, XXl Santa Cruz hightower lt and more. All around 30 lbs.
That FTR looks like a sweet rig! I’m disappointed in my 2x2, it doesn’t fit Fox 15x110 forks very well, nor flat pedals. But it sure is an easy bolt on solution!
Thanks! Yeah I was considering the 2x2. I might even try making something similar to it for rear mounting. Awesome that you’re able to carry a bike on an FTR! Indian makes some great bikes and I’m hoping they make a Pan Am competitor in the future.
i think I would have been inclined to put the bike rack on the left side both to keep distance from the exhaust and because since we drive on the right side of the road our right turns have a tighter radius than our left turns. Super cool idea though. I've long wanted to do the same thing and so your accomplishment is great inspiration.
Thanks! Yeah I thought about the left side but the rack isn’t as far out as the right and it would’ve made the bike really close to me. But I may tinker with it and figure out something to do on the left side. Glad It could be of some inspiration!
@@cruisingwithkyle thanks, and did yours come with a nut and bolt that’s supposed to go through the exhaust mount and the 2 silver brackets that are welded to the pipes? Mine did not.
You did a great job. Good on ya!! Just one word of caution. Some years back a couple of magazines ran articles stating truck owners with tailgate racks were having trouble with warped rims. All in question had carbon fiber rims and the exhaust fumes had damaged them to the point of being unusable. When they tried the manufacturers for warranty help the OEM’s shot down their request quickly. Possibly you could switch the rack to the other side? Good build though, awesome DIY creativity.
Wow I didn’t know about that, thanks for letting me know. I only mounted it to the exhaust side because the luggage rack was further out but I’ll definitely look into trying something on the other side. Thanks!
It looks cool and very smart using what you know. I know you've already built it but maybe for v2 you figure out how much higher the back bar needs to sit to have the bottom of the wheels sit level. The top tube would be angled upwards like this / instead of level like this --. The other idea I had was make sure the connections are tight then drill the holes that mount it to the bike. Now time to find some bag metal bag mounts for my MT-07 and figure out how to do this on my bike.
Thanks! Yeah for the next iteration I’m going to raise the back bar and level out the bike. I took it on about an hour ride this weekend with the bike and it help up great at highway speeds just need to make those tweaks and it’ll be good. That would awesome to see something like this on an MT-07!
