I loved flying into Lake Lawn during my PP training. Awesome departing over the lake. Great to hear about the investment coming to LL. Will definitely be back!
@@CompleteWalkaround I use the GoPro 3.5mm mic adapter to split the audio signal directly into the GoPro. During post production I spend a good amount of time using a mix of compression and noise gates to filter out unwanted frequencies. It takes some finesse. The raw audio doesn't sound great. It took my many hours to find just the right settings. But now that I have them I apply the same effects chain to the audio and Viola--crisp and clean and no caffeine. Great question.
Thank you so much for the video and the update. I had the absolute pleasure to meet and talk with Jeremy at Sun n Fun this year. What a wonderful person he is. As you may remember it was during Sun n Fun that the announcement concerning the end of Bushcat production was made. It was heartbreaking to see Jeremy's and all his employees livelihood taken away without warning and or time to prepare. Jeremy was understandable down when I met him and even though he had no idea what the future held he was confident that something good would follow. I am thrilled for him and the entire AeroSport family concerning this new chapter in their lives and wish them nothing but success going forward. And thank you Tom for sharing this wonderful news with us.
Tom I hate that you have been so much a part of bushcat😢. I went and tried one lastyear at the lsa expo. I will keep an eye out for news.. Thank you for the fun would have loved to meet you..and bob and your spouse.
I came very close to ordering one of these last year. I wound up with an Aeroprakt A-22LS that I have been flying since the last week in January 2024. 110 hours so far. I liked the construction on the Bushcat because it was very similar to Quicksilvers with the tube and fabric construction. Sorry for all the folks who could no longer order them, to Bushcat Tom (whose videos were a strong influence on my initial preference for the BC) and to the folks at Fly Aerosport.
Someone could copy the basic design and manufacture a kit here. It’s not any more copyrighted than, say, a Cub clone. I have a good friend that has a medium sized company that makes bags and backpacks for shooting sports. He says the sails are very doable.
Surely such a good design will keep going, under a new ownership,it just needs tweaking the economies, maybe a move to Thailand production would be enough.Same materials and covering, and you build the kit.
I’m on section 33 after three weeks. It’s sad that no one else will get to see what real organization and quality looks like. Third kit I’ve built and it does NOT get any easier or more organized than this kit. Can’t wait to get her in the air though.
My two favorites are now off of my list of potentials... the Bushcat is discontinued and the Aeroprakt A22 is under attack by Commies. When I am ready to purchase something, this will be a top priority of mine... trying to find a company that is stable. Tom, you are smart getting another set of sails, as I don't see how a factory can keep a line open just for the small amount of Bushcats out there. Hopefully, a US buyer buys the rights to the design and brings manufacturing back to the States. Other LSA manfacturers are starting to do just this because of shipping costs and other economic stresses. Merlin has bought back their production to the States from Europe, because of this.
Sail is the operative word. If you have the originals, a sailmaker can always make a full set of sails for a Bushcat. At the last SnF Jeremy said that several of the people who make sails for ultralights looked at the Bushcat and said, “no problem.” Daniela also published the patterns.
@@KennyJacobs For the time being I am enormously happy with my BushCat. The company still provides parts and I am amply supported to keep Bruce the Cat flying. That said, I have enjoyed perusing the LSA market and who knows what the future might hold. Thanks for watching.
Keep an eye on the used market. The BC is about the most field repairable aircraft around, using off-the-shelf structural members. The custom plates are easily fabricated if SA doesn't have them in stock.
No, kits and ready to fly Bushcats are no longer available. Your only hope is to buy used or find someone who is willing to sell the kit that they have.
Excellent news for Aerosport. I'm sure it's too early to disclose their full plans. Really like that opening music piece. The bass guitarist (Terry Comer) and the drummer really nailed the rhythms on that one. Paul Carrack on vocals.
When i was young and in the Aviation Explorers, we used to help the local EAA chapter with Young Eagle's on the second Saturday of the month. The volunteer pilots would fly us all to Lake Lawn for lunch for helping out. I got lots of stick and rudder time at that airport. It's good to see that someone is investing in that airport!
@@erict5234 Yes, the millionaire owner of Lake Lawn Lodge (and also a bunch of car dealerships) has big renovation plans, including an airpark immediately east of the hangars. It's gonna be a happenin' place. A work in progress for now. Thanks for watching.
Flew into Lake Lawn from Frankfort IL. airport on Jan 18th 1976 in C172 673PJ with friends on one of my first X-country flights after getting my pilots license. They had a J-3 on skies that you could rent. Now live on Adams Co. airport in Wisconsin.
Been noticing the hangars going up too. Glad to hear that they're going to put some money into the airport. New surface, fuel, and lights should help the resort and the Lake Lawn area. Looks like we had the same idea (flying to Lake Lawn). That's was our Bonanza in the background. We always enjoy stopping here for a bite.
Great to hear this. Hmm? Cheap gas sounds great. But what I'd like to see is availability of Swift UL94. Seems like it's disappeared from southern Wisconsin.
You have been misinformed. Not only is it open but Lake Lawn is going to become one of the greatest airports ever! New runways, new ramp, landing lights, ILS, Fuel, courtesy cars, aircraft maintenance, flight school, Rotax parts, Rotax Repairman classes, shuttle service to Lake Lawn Lodge, full service FBO with furniture, restrooms, weather station, snacks, soda, snow cones & Zip Lines.
