Welcome to Lighthouse Sea Fishing Tutorials. We are a channel that are passionate about Sea Angling and after more than 10 years of experience and interest in the field, we have decided to share some of our knowledge and tips to help people just like you who have a keen interest in this wonderful sport.

Unlike many Sea Angling channels on RU-vid, we have opted to go for an academic approach, to focus on learning and education, especially for new starters but even for anglers who already fish and simply hope to improve their skills.

Our goal is to take useful yet often complex topics and make them concise and understandable. This channel covers multiple areas including catch methods for specific fish species, as well as tutorials on understanding conditions, tackle, other equipment and more. Feel free to take a look at our video sections below and have a browse.

First cast with one of these and I got a mackerel

I always thought the UK was in Europe.
@LighthouseSeaFishingTutorials
@LighthouseSeaFishingTutorials 12 часов назад
You are indeed correct. When we use the term Europe, we are basically highlighting that we also provide tips that are relevant for continental Europe, as most UK based channels pretty much just cover info on the UK alone, it just helps us communicate to our intended demographics. The term "mainland Europe" would be more accurate for sure, fair point taken.

I don't understand why mullet fish is not attracted to artificial ragworms. they take real ragworms worms mullet fish can sense the bait or see the bait

Thanks for the input Mario. Its always worth trying new ideas out, you never really know until you try.

Hooks sizes upto 2/0 work fine for mackerel. I would suggest 1/0 to 2/0 while at the pier as you don't want to pull in 6 small coal fish on small hooks!

Do artificial ragworms work for mullet fishing I'm not sure

I have heard of Golden Greys falling to conventional lures when spinning, but I haven't as of yet seen any kind of lure used for Thick or Thin Lipped Mullet. But never say never, if its something you think is worth a try, then why not give it a go, tight lines.

good video, although a running ledger is probably the top rig
@LighthouseSeaFishingTutorials

A running ledger would definitely give good bite detection for sure. And minimum resistance for taking the bait👍

just found your videos , theyre great for explaining the tides etc , i fish from my boat in south wales , the big tides are really difficult , as the movement of water through the channels is huge ,but the small tides are better for this , your explanations are obviously aimed to shore anglers

Hi there Jeff, yeah I bet the neaps can be easier to work with for yourself, being so close to the main Bristol Channel. This particular video is indeed aimed at shore angling and is within our shore angling based playlist. We will be adding lots of boat fishing videos in the near future so stay tuned and keep an eye on the channel. Glad you enjoyed mate.

Look for any rocky areas or wood structures nearby for limpets. Cracking bream bait, free and difficult to get off the hook.
@LighthouseSeaFishingTutorials
@LighthouseSeaFishingTutorials 2 месяца назад
Brilliant point! Those pesky Bream can almost make it an art, pinching bait from a hook, limpets would be good and tough.
