Great video, love tour channel. If you ever come to the UK there's a great indi bookshop in Bath called Mr B's and a specialist sci-fi and fantasy bookshop in Oxford.
This discussion. Wow. It was everything I needed to hear. Both of you articulated where you are in your writer lives so well. As a querying writer in middle age without children I struggle with many of these issues and the imposter syndrome that comes with it. Thanks so much for this!
This is so helpful - I am 29 now and my husband and I are getting ready to start trying to have kids, and this is a topic I have always been interested in and worried about. Thank you for speaking so candidly. I am devouring your podcast!!!
I remember that first outing after having our little one was surreal. Nice to see that you got to get out and enjoy quiet time. So important to do for our mental health ❤
Great podcast!! Look forward to seeing your friendship flourish and grow as I hope you continue to re-join and look forward to reading both of your books. Thank you for sharing your lives! 😊💖💞
What a great concept, I'd never heard of this before either. This was a much needed boost as I'm going through my own writing slump right now. Thanks for this!
Louise so GREAT to hear from you!!! Never heard the pink 🦩 flamingo cliche however it makes all the sense. It does take time but you're amazing and will bounce back into your routine in no time. I am sure it's different for everyone. Just think you'll be reading to your baby, teaching how to read, have a love for books, and possibly he'll grow up to be the best author ever to live !!! 💖📚 ✍🏻📄📝 😊
Bethany Atazedah has a similar story (if im not misremembering, she also wasn't prepared and really stressed out about losing her identity as an author) You might want to check out some of her videos and maybe reach out. I dont think she sugar coats the experience either.
Picking up on your question about what content to make, looks like your high hitting videos are all about writing specifically. I clicked because I’m writing my first book and I’m always on the hunt for advice on writing for newbie’s. There are lots of book tubers out there so that may explain your lower view counts on the other content. What may be good is to take popular book you have read and do breakdown videos for first time authors to learn story structure, pacing, foreshadowing etc. hope this helps 😊 Adele
Thank you so much for sharing this ❤ I am a writer and currently 20weeks experiencing everything you have described. By far this has been the most helpful video I have watched about motherhood. Thank you so much for giving me hope ❤
So happy Louise that you are continuing your goals during Motherhood. You are right, it does take a transitioning period and you are doing well. So happy for you. I will continue to follow you and share your content with others. 💖
Thanks for this, it couldn't have come at a better time. My writing slump is pretty epic right now. I've had some feedback from full requests(rejected ones, lol!) and if I want to address them I'll need to make major revisions that feel more like a complete rewrite. I don't know about you but the longer I stray from my ms the more disconnected I feel to it, and now I need to ask myself if the book I wrote is still the kind I want it to be. I'm so looking forward to more writing vlogs, knowing that you're finding time for this along with the writing and the new responsibilities is really inspiring!
Love these ideas! It's always so hard to get out of a writing slump. Couldn't agree more that changing your environment helps so much! I love writing at coffee shops too.
@12:04 You should put the butter under the skin of the chicken, thighs and all, by gently separating parts of the skin and jamming in butter to melt directly on the meat that dries. Definitely have me adding this to our dinner meals this week 😋
I’ve had The Wager on my shelf for a bit…I hope I can finish it too 🫣 And ugh! Thank you for posting about the James Patterson book. I didn’t pick it up because I was pouting after being declined for an ARC 😆 But now I’m glad I didn’t get it at all.
Congratulations to you and Geoff! I’m so happy for you both! Henrik is one fortunate little guy. I hope you’re healing well 💕 Now, what’s this about library cards for babies?! That’s the cutest thing ever! 😭🥹
Congratulations! Great advice. I am enjoying Huckleberry Finn as an audio book. The reader is so expressive. I have a book in my bag for Dr's appts, and one by my bedside. Reading is a joy for me, from my first library card, to now in my senior years. Two things my grand kids can rely on, a book from grandma, and a warm hug.
Thanks for sharing. Congratulations on being able to have this event. I liked hearing the tip about having videos ready on a USB drive in case the internet or technology messes up.
I recommend The Husbands, by Holly Grammazio if you want something light and fun but still insightful, also Chain-Gang All Stars is brilliant if heavier in theme.
Enjoyed house of doors and intrigued that Willy is William Somerset Maugham. The garden of evening mists is a beautiful read. My bedside book is The Adversary by Michael Crummey, and audio book is Ivanhoe by Walter Scott.
Yayyyy!!!!! Was looking forward to a new VLOG!!!!!!!💞📚😊 Your tan looks great Louise!!! And your description of everything is awesome, it's like being there with you!!! Thank you and Geoff for letting all of us be a part of your journey!!!!!💞🃏♦️♠️😊
Ode is on my list of hotels to stay in. My partner and I like to spend the occasional weekend exploring different T.O. neighbourhoods and this is in an area I need to visit! Same with Little Ghosts, it looks like you had a great time:)
