Thank you so much for this. I am honored to say that Telly was first cousins with my mom. The artistic gene started with Telly's maternal grandfather - a Greek Clarinet musician who came to New York in 1904. He left behind in Greece his wife and three children - Aunt Millie, Aunt Christina (Telly's mom) and my grandfather who was also a clarinet musician. My great aunt Christina was a poet, painter of murals and sculptress. In the video his brother Teddy was a gifted artist musician himself. Always his pride to be of Greek blood and a New Yorker. Thank you so much.
What a guy. I grew up watching 'Kojak', loved it. He is so right about mum's - I became a carer for my mum in her later years and I'm so glad I did because she was the best person in my life. 🙏💔
He was so good in front of a camera. He was always convincing no matter what role he was portraying; convincing and sincere. What a presence! I love coming to YT and finding videos like this one. Thank you for sharing. Memory eternal to Mr Telly Savalas.
I met Monte Markham in 1997 at the Subase in Groton, CT. He was there to prepare for a submarine episode of his Great Ships series. It was an unexpected encounter. My commanding officer was escorting him around and they stopped by my office. Not sure why….maybe because I was an ‘oddity.’ I was a female Navy chaplain. I was literally speechless. Then I blurted out ‘I loved ‘The Second Hundred Years’! He said ‘That was a favorite project.!’ And then I added, And ‘Death Takes a Holiday.’ (Did I watch too much TV?!) He said ‘That was another favorite project.’ Of course, I got his autograph! Later my captain stopped by and said, ‘He was beaming the rest of the tour!’ Never saw this movie before. We did not have a great antenna and the local.CBS station did not come in very well.
Savalas could never fill his RAM with enough dialogue to break loose for even ten seconds where he wasn't obviously focusing on the cue cards, and this is a serious enough detraction from whatever reputation he had as an actor that he must be posthumously destroyed.
A prescient indictment of our national policies prioritizing the rights of corporate profiteering over the rights of citizens to access healthcare even though there are very real national security implications.
I am 65, I wish I could call my Mum, she passed away 24 years ago when I was studying Fine Art at University, I miss my Mum every day. I would give anything to say Hello one last time. 🙂
Can Almost sympathize with the guy I SAID ALMOST!!!! Little people being screwed by the Establishment but on the other hand his victims didn't do his wife any wrong. Anyway-------great film!
Very corny and predictable but enjoyable if one switches gears to that era. Poor woman was just eye candy for the stalls and made to seem a terrible person at the end by an obviously pissed off writer just dumped. Most reasonable response wouldve been 'Ok darling but once the bomber is caught no more excuses'! Lol
No doubt this is a Gems Of A Gem story but whenever a gentleman, a genuine, an honest person goes to the Police or any Countries they always nailed the person as Criminals, Guilty or more than that, that's why nobody willingly gets touch with the police personnel and cooperating if that person knows something that could help police departments. From the very beginning no one is going to give police departments officials to be a part or give any Witnesses because general people knows what they have to face in present, future circumstances.
