Well it is not only the commissions. The government has set the minimum purchase price of $200,000 for foreigners to buy a property. So most properties that are selling to foreigners today are already inflated to meet this price. For example a property which is actually worth $100,000 would be priced at $200,000 for foreign buyer. And also foreigners are only to resell to Turkish citizens. Citizens will never buy back at such inflated prices and so investors are at a big loss when trying to exit the Turkish real estate market.
Thank you very much for your comment. Both things are not correct. You can purchase a property for under $200k as a foreigner and also sell it to a foreigner aferwards. If you want a residence permit you need a minimum investment of $200k.

To me, the cons are... too many people smoke, and recently they blame their bad economy on foreigners, and the real estate transactions go through some sort of an stone age process 😊
That is correct, a lot of people are smoking. Luckily almost all restaurants have outside areas. The opinions of the causes of economic issues differ like in most countries there are multiple sides.. Real estate transactions are organized totally different in Turkey, if we compare it with Europe or the US, correct:)
