Joni was adopted from a shelter as a kitten but I think fostering animals is really incredible. If i were to get another pet I'd definitely consider fostering first
Hi Lauren! Such a sweet nyc travel vlog! I just went to nyc too and discovered a godly summer drink combo there! Miller High Life, shot of Aperol and squeeze of lemon! Summer in a bevvie 🌟💌
Oh my gosh that's so funny! My friends and I are obsessed with that drink combo and drink it all summer in the park. We call it spaghetti but I don't know if that's the official name for it
do you ever buy get books from a library or do you normally buy them? my dad is always encouraging me to go to the library but i love to crack a spine and build my own collection- it also feels sometimes like the book was written just for me if i write in it or am the first that read the exact copy!
I typically buy books but only because it's a huge part of my job. I need to be able to reference physical books so it makes a lot more sense for me personally to buy them. Libraries are such an incredibly under utilized public resource and so if there's one accessible to you then you should totally use it. There's nothing more punk rock than the public library :)
Congrats on the new flat! It's funny/cool that you can just choose/look at an apartment like that and move there. Like, in most European cities there are huge housing crises going on, so getting an even better flat in the same building would be a huge jackpot. 😀
that's so fascinating. I think when you live in a smaller city like I do affordable housing is relatively easily to find. Especially if you want to live in historical buildings with little to no renovations done. It's also pretty common here for older buildings to have bigger and smaller units within them and once you live in a building it's very easy to notify your building manger that you're interested in moving around within your own building.
What have you been using on your skin recently? Your complexion is flawless! At least on your face 😅 Sorry about the poison ivy! Can relate to the struggle!
Honestly I haven't been doing anything differently. I think it might just be my better camera quality lol it kind of airbrushes my skin because I promise that's not actually what it looks like in person
I'm just trying to pay my rent and feed my cat over here :) I also don't believe in unpaid labour and neither should you. Creative work is still work and deserves to be compensated
@@bigbooklady agreed but you’re a youtube partner as well, its not as bad as tiktok but you get enough views to get a semi reasonable pay. Im not watching these ads because i believe in unpaid labour. I dont mind sponsorships, but i do mind it in every video + the usual ads. You’re putting words into my mouth and making assumptions. What worries me is that you refer to videos without a sponsorship as unpaid labour when you are in fact being paid and that me being critical about that means i believe in unpaid labour and somehow don’t understand the value of creative work.
@@douloureux. I believe in being as transparent as possible about my income so I'm going to break a couple things down for you. RU-vid is currently my main source of income. I live in Canada and am not eligible for the TikTok creator fund therefore make no money off of TikTok views. In my best months on RU-vid the income I've generated monthly from RU-vid ads alone is $1,700 Canadian dollars. On average I make slightly less than $1,500 Canadian dollars off of RU-vid ads. My monthly rent is $1,210 dollars and will be increasing to $1,260 this coming September. $1,500 - $1,260 = $240 If I don't include my own ads within my videos I will have $240 a month to spend on groceries, transportation, medication, internet, my phone bill, my student loan and basic necessities. I have ads places within my videos out of necessity. I wouldn't include them if it weren't necessary :)
Congrats on your new apartment! You're moving on my birthday. Your new place sounds fabulous--looking forward to seeing it. Thanks for sharing your visit to NYC.
Are we getting spoiled with these new videos coming out less than two weeks apart? 😗I'm overjoyed that you've found a travel companion in John! 💕Your US trip has sparked my curiosity about the food scene in Winnipeg, especially considering that many of the things you've eaten in New York turned out to be "the best." 🥺🤣
Aw I'm so happy you're here! I did a ton of research to find really great restaurants in New York and also just got very lucky with the spots we chose. I worked in fine dining in Winning for a good part of my early 20s and all my best friends work in the restaurant industry so maybe I'm a little biased but I think Winnipeg has an amazing food scene
