The Sarasota Herald-Tribune was founded in 1925. Today, more than 90 years later, our company has transformed from a newspaper to a diversified media company known as the Herald-Tribune Media Group. The HTMG’s mission is to be the most trusted and valued source of news and information in the market we serve.

Tienes hijos ? Supongo que no! Espero más que no
There still is a Herald Tribune building in Sarasota. It is located next to the Sarasota Lakes RV Resort, across from SRQ Airport. When I stayed at the resort last year, I walked around the area. I did not take any photos, but I felt like I was traveling back in time to Germany or a US Army Base during WWII. All the buildings have huge roof top vents, outdoor electric and gas pipes, propane tanks, and furnaces. The 1944 SAL and ACL Railroad runs right behind the old newspaper factory. There are original freight and cargo wagons on the tracks, but many are now covered in graffiti. Note: Look up Holocaust Trains on Wikipedia for a comparable description. It is disturbing that our country’s historical records include such precise details of these horrific mass genocides. That being said, the site and its historical past would be an excellent news story for today’s readers.
Does anyone know how to get in contact with Robert Breen? My grandfather was on one of the surrounding ships that day, and he wrote a firsthand account of the incident.
