Cade ! I loved u on Alone! My heart broke for u abt the quiver and arrows. I wonder if u cld have taken the video footage and retrace ur steps to find them ? Anyhow u were awesome and I wish u and ur lovely family the best !!! Meg from Massachusetts
I enjoyed this video but have a few questions. What season are you hunting to be able to switch from bow to riffle and then you state in your comments w the video you are in the wilderness, is there no requirement to wear orange?
Howdy Cowbah *Arthur Morgan voice* 😂 Seriously though, I just binge watched Season 1 thru 10 of ALONE. I really appreciate your stance and approach. I hope things are going well for you and your family...Question...When does your new line of arrows and quivers hit the market? Cause brother I woulda been every bit as angry at that!
Thanks for posting a video that didn't "cherry pick" your best run but gave us reality! This is an excellent test of skills, but also an excellent test of rifles against a set course of fire. A lot of people have a safe full of rifles, have a favorite rifle that they use, but might actually be better served by something else in their safe. This is something that they would only know if they practiced field shooting positions and then submitted the rifles (and themselves) to the cabin fever challenge course of fire. Of course, the fact that it can only be shot for score during the few winter months of January through March makes it MUCH more challenging to those of us that have winter... Keep up the excellent content, Sir!
THANK YOU, Cade, for another great video. You are one of the few people that show how to adopt the backpack to field shooting positions! The internet needs more of these practical, tested techniques for field shooting instead of all the neat, cool, I just got this new "wiz-bang 5,000" and you need to buy one, too" videos that sell products and not share skills. People who wish to carry rifles in the field NEED to GET OFF THE BENCH and learn these field shooting techniques. Thanks again!
I have carried a rifle in the traditional African carry method for decades and seeing this video makes me wonder what was wrong with me all those years for not turning it into your cross-body muzzle down method. It seems to answer the few down sides of the traditional carry method without introducing any new ones. Excellent. By the way, I too wear a practical brimmed hat when hunting. When I was in South Africa, I got some strange looks for my choice of headgear the first morning, but when we got back to camp that evening, I was the only one without a sunburned neck and ears, so there is that! Thanks for another great video.
Most bipods are just too short to be effective in the field. Big bipods are great at the cost of weight. But your average bipod is pretty impractical for field use.
What a breath of fresh air this is! Love the fact that you aren’t decked out with the latest gear and you put out the best elk hunting video I’ve seen. Reminds me of hunting with my late Dad. Can’t get enough of watching guys like you and Cliff Gray. Thanks for sharing! Subscribed!
This rifle has an older Leupold Rifleman that I’ve had for years. It’s discontinued now but I mount it to new guns before I decide on a more permanent optic when I get them for testing.
Dear Cade. I just watched your Alone season and I have to express how beautiful your experience was to witness. Your words were deep and heartfelt, funny and powerful. Consistently. I don't think the story they told about you was diminishing at all; I saw a professional hunter without the resources to hunt successfully work really damn hard and speak poetry under a big big sky. Sending you a blessing from Portland, Oregon, as a lover of wild nature myself.
Awesome video brother! The shot of you hiking out by the river with the majestic bear on your backpack is incredible. Hope to join you on a hunt sometime!
You did a lot of bellyaching dude. And you are a huge drama queen. That's what killed me about your season. Your wife had physical and mental trauma from the miscarriage and you still left her home to cope alone. Oh and you didn't "starve to death." You're still here to tell your story.
My wife miscarried the night before I dropped. There was nothing I could do to change it. I don’t remember belly aching much on the show even despite my lack of resources. Fortunately I had a team of people ready to get me after I lost 32 pounds and collapsed from exhaustion. Seems like you’ve got some of your own issues to sort out to me.
@@CadeCole_Roadhouse I think you were genuinely the most impressive person throughout the whole season, only thing that could be better was your luck and nobody can do anything about it (I am doubting that there are over 40000 bears there), you’ve experienced most heavy loss of losing your quiver which is what you used to get all the food sources but you still coped without them for quite a long time, I honestly thought that you could’ve won if luck was on your side man.
Just watched your last day on Alone episode 5. You're one tough sum bitch. You reminded me of Clay Hayes. This is the first time I'm seeing your YT but would love to see you 2 do a collaboration.
Cade, you're the real deal. Great job solo filming this! Cade thank you for taking the time to show how you debone the bull out before pack out. As a long time DIY hunter, I can tell you that all of us do things slightly different. It's nice to see how a professional like yourself do things. I learned a lot from that. There's a lot to be said about your style of hunting elk. A very high percentage of us take too much for granted. I know you're a busy guy but you should look into Mountain Man Rendezvous. It's right up your alley! Great job on the video and the hunt!
I keep telling my son to stop packing knives like what you are using…. lol. He’s got a 9” blade Damascus that is his favorite. Maybe I’ll shut up and let him hunt his own way…
😂 I keep that big knife on my saddle because it doubles as a hatchet/draw knife… also because i just always wanted a big Bowie. It works but it ain’t light!!
@@CadeCole_Roadhouse one time on a troop trip I set the packing rules very general and then when everyone got back did a pack review for all the boys. My son had 6lbs of knives. I do generally let him carry his buck 119 and then a smaller folder… he is working on his own design right now that resembles that “old timer” skinner.

Had to watch after seeing your interview with cliff. Love the solo adventure with little comfort. Questionable decisions when you're packing three horses and choose not to bring any food but glad it worked out!
All your comments on being proficient with a rifle in all the "non standard" formats is key. How many times have we as Guides had a hunter who is zero'd and puts bullets in the same hole at 100yds from the bench turn into a mess in the field because the grass is too tall for him to be prone and he has never even tried to shoot seated off of a pack and just using 3+ points of contact to get a stable position however he can find it. The Art of Riflemanship isn't talked about enough and the marketing world doesn't allow for the idea of getting to know one gun to the fine details of high competency. They want you to be buying new rifles, new calibers, and the latest thing. The saying goes.... beware of the man who has only one gun. Oddly enough I have also written an article in Ammoland Shooting Sports News about Randy Luth who is the first and so far only guy to accomplish the North American Super Ten using an AR Rifle! So check out our Private Group Page on Facebook for AR Hunters and the 22.5K member Community we have for AR platform Hunters. Good Work, good video example and conversation to have.
Came here from @CliffGrays video...jeez next time Cade don't pack so heavy! Those 4 servings of rice and salt and pepper shakers must have really tired out your mule lol...amazing self filmed pack trip thanks for bringing me along!
