I bought one of the last ever Traxxas Summits ever made. I even beefed it up with E-REVO 2.0 pushrods and A-arms. Now it’s built tougher than an average Summit!❤ I also installed Arrma tether body clip retainers to prevent losing the body clips AND make it much easier to remove the body.
The slipper is designed to be tightened down to the point where there’s basically zero slip with the nut. I have a mamba monster2650kv in mine on 4s with the stock slipper tightened down. Tires are pretty good considering it’s going about 70 now and they’re just starting to balloon.
Thanks for this video.....I looked for the link on the introduction to programming these tx's but couldn't find it. Can you provide it so I can check that video out as well? Thanks in advance.
Thank you very much for sharing! The other guide I watched was missing a step to be able to expand the channel to 8 for the model selected. Yours is complete, thank you very much!
yeah I can help you get your dig set up. What button are you wanting to operate your dig and which receiver/how many channels are you using? What channel do you want your dig to operate on the receiver? I have my dig set up on thebutton on the handle as a momentary switch where your middle finger would hit it but let me know which switch you want to run it and what channel and I’ll walk you through
I need help with mine when I long press my name it dose nothing just tells me to change the name I'm trying to get rear steer set up but I don't know how
So the light module is constantly seeing 2s power, as in 7.4V? Does this increase or stay the same if running a 3s battery to power the RC? Great description and information 👍
honestly, I can’t remember I think that it does step the voltage down the lighting control module is plugged in to the ESC but I would have to break out the voltmeter and actually check it. I know that it can handle whatever battery that that ESC can handle the other wire that is the tripwire to turn it on and off, that is just saying 5.5 V from the receiver. I can check the voltage with a voltmeter and see I’m actually kind of curious now that you asked that.
Traxxas electronics are trash. Well at least for the summit. Bought a new one and less than 2 months of very light use. Servos broke and their customer support won't do anything and wants you to buy parts to replace which was the downer about the whole thing. After buying the servos like yours I found that the esc is trash too! I am really getting disillusioned with Traxxas. Point is I can afford to upgrade the summit but if your a kid with not allot of money and bought your first summit and it breaks, your out of luck to you manage to get more funds not to mention the downtime to you get all the parts to fix it.
I hate to hear that happened to you. Honestly, I have three full-size summits and one of the 1/16 scale summit and honestly I haven’t really had a problem with any of the electronics except one of the ESC actually burnt up on one but that was absolutely my fault. it got messed up due to a wiring issue of my own doing. Now that being said their servers are junk. But also 99% of factory cars have craft service. Now does Traxxas have some things to be desired in their electronics? Yes, but all in all I think they’re decent and honestly their customer service has been really good to me so for now I know some people have had issues and I hate you did as well. Honestly, they should’ve just sent you some new servos and let it be at that. If nothing else to keep you happy that’s what I would’ve done. Sorry you had that issue. Don’t let it get you disillusion with the summit it’s a great truck.
Best explanation so far.. seen to many vdos with official lights(expensive) thanks for helping out.. do post such non official part installation vdos.. all the best..
Everyone who gets a Summit loves it. It’ll probably be my next R/C; I have some fast ones but I have been looking into getting a crawler but I remembered this.
So the figures are used were 12 inch G.I. Joe figures from the 1990s. They are a little large. I actually had to cut them off at the waist and do some modification to get them to fit. I think some thing around 10 inches would probably be perfect but not sure what can be found in that size you could use something around the size you were talking about 30 cm you may have to modify and do a little cutting on the figure but they will work pretty Well. I used hot glue to hold mine in and it’s working great.
Thanks for the upload mate! - Liquid insulation tape dipping works best. It comes in different brands, but you can google it. Really good shit, Plus its very elastic so you can peel it off if need be. I don't trust this stuff anymore but I am into Marine RC Yacht racing and that's the stuff we use ( Liquid Insulation Tape ) - Take care and God bless from Australia. *SUBBED*
How were you able to get the wire harness to fit into the receiver box? I'm having issues with wires not being long enough to put the water seal cap on and the plugs are under the motor and causing issues with fitment and rear diff lock
I know this is old, but I had a body finished for me and sent my radio so it could be hacked. He installed lights and all was good. I built a brx01 and when I click the ch 3 button it works my steering trim(but it doesn't actually trim that servo) The radio is fine for my other vehicles but have no idea how to set this up. Is there a list of commands? I have no idea what this all is. My other gt3c is not hacked and I know it well. This one is crazy. Any advice. I watched video but not working. thanks.
OK what kind of ESC are you running? Once you hook up this new transmitter more than likely you’re going to have to do a calibration on your ESC in order to get everything to work. Give me some more details about what’s going on I have noticed on these transmitters a lot of the times they are natively set up for 1/5 scale large buggies so many times you will have to reverse channel 2, but that’s easy enough to do. Let me know what your set up is and what issues you’re having and I’ll try to walk you through it
Honestly, I don’t remember exactly what size are used I have a bunch of random hardware sitting around for different vehicles. I just found a couple of bolts that would work OK if I remember right, I had some spacers that I placed in between the box and the chassis just to take up some of the space they don’t have to be super tight but I do remember there being a small gap that I put either some washers Orson tiny spacers in maybe like 3 mm
Little wordy, but good message, I liked it, thank you, now I just pray you see my question on this 2 yr old video. LoL, hell I just ask again, are the "one size fits all" "balancing" chargers ok? As in are they safe? Thanks.
I so generally, as long as you have a good hobby grade, quality balance charger that can do a balance charge, which almost all of them should be able to, and it has not only battery hook ups, but hook ups for the balance wires. And yes you should be OK. No obviously if you’re deep into the hobby, the more money you spend general, you can get something a little more accurate and a little nicer, but most of them will do the job. Just make sure you rather charged in a safe place or keep an eye on them.
We've had a Rustler for about 4yrs now, always had just one nimh "hump" battery, daughter lost interest after she got hit once...so lost my excuse to spend $$$ on it, but just got a pair of the Zeee 5200 lipos, just got a cheap "Supulse" B3P 25w balancing charger, & some generic adapter for the Esc. So my question is, will that charger be fine? Says it'll turn off when full, but I see people talking about charging with specific amount of A's (amps?), so is it fine to have this "one size fits all" type charger? I'm more worried about *safe* than battery life or anything like that. Thanks
So I took a look at it online. It definitely is really low on the power scale it’s probably safe I have my questions though to be perfectly honest with you and for $50-$100 you can easily get a charger that has almost 10 times the power. With that power rating it is going to take you around. It will take you around 4 to 5 hours to charge and balance a 5200 battery. And it’s going to take a long time to get it back to storage voltage after that I did not notice if it had storage charge option or not which is the safest way to store your batteries. On Amazon you can pick up some very good chargers by any of the following brand. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 to 200 W is a good power level For a plug in the wall unit. Htrc, hota, sky r, isdt (my brand of choice ) or hobby mate, are all very good units and a relatively safe as long as you follow good charging protocol c
So, if you just wanted to power the lights, they know you would not need a different receiver. You could actually plug it into. I believe the very top port, which would basically be used as power on a nitro, but it will bleed power through that and power your lights if you want to control them via your transmitter Then yes, you’re going to need a few things. first you’re going to need a lighting controller. The one I’ve been using is by Apex RC and can be found on Amazon easily or I have a video entitled TRX - four lights controlled by transmitter. You can watch that the links in the description. Also, you’re going to need some of the six channel receivers They are the rand. Flysky receivers they’re great and actually I use them on a lot of things that I use this transmitter for you actually get some better distance out of them. I buy mine from RC addict. You can find this VA simple Google search they are out of Pennsylvania and are amazing if you go under their radios and receiver section, you will see R1.06 channel receiver for your transmitter. These are amazing and they shipped pretty quick. if you need any help setting up your transmitter to control this let me know if you need anything else just leave me a reply and I’ll help you out
I have crab setup on the end button. When I press the end button no crab = crab & crab = 4WS. Thought it would just do crab/no crab instead 4WS. Any idea why?
I don’t have a great answer but I will check out my set up when I get home from work tonight and I will reply to you again I’ll check my set up and go through some of the settings and see if there’s a way to fix this.
